I hope my hair will stay similar as it grows out, but it seems like the waves are getting slightly looser with every inch of growth.
Crossposting here, because i achieved a Big milestone - i was able to do a half up Bun with a hair stick! It would probably hold for an hour or two only, but it Holds!
My front strands of hair are CBL, so it probably helps :)

Such a great half up! And congratulations on having grown out so much of your natural colour. I really like the contrast of the dyed bun against your natural hair, it's very striking!
I hope your hair has pleasant surprises in store with the waves, and that they won't relax much more.

OK, so I've been trying to learn new styles as I grow, and decided to have a go at one of the tutorials in a YouTube video on this thread.
I'm amazed I have enough length to do even a little tiny side braid, but yay! (btw this isn't the first time I've done the braid, just the first time it's photographed decently!)

I also got a knockoff cheap version of those flatter hair bands made of elastic ribbon, and I'm pretty impressed with them.
Also did the towel test yesterday, and I'm nearly there wet, but it still looks like forever dry. Ah well.

Wow, you have talent!
Also love your colors :) :flower:
Keep growing, you'll get there soon!

Thank you everyone
I’m still hesitant to leave this thread and officially graduate
I think it’s because of my bad ends

Are your ends damaged? I think your hemline looks pretty nice :) If you need to trim, I would wait a month or two so when your trim you are still APL! Since you've felt like you've been SL for so long, and because BSL is so close already, you would probably feel like you're making more progress if you stayed at APL slightly longer compared to SL. Just my opinion though, of course do whatever you feel your ends need :)

Thank you! :blossom: I'm loving the Youtube tutorials now I have enough hair to try them! A friend who's visiting next week has promised to show me how to do a four strand braid, so hopefully I'll be able to add that one soon. I can't remember how long her hair is, but it's somewhere between hip and classic, and so lovely.

I think [[draysmir]]'s suggestion sounds really sensible. I know we can't see in photos what you can see IRL, but your ends don't look bad from here, and I suppose the question is can you live with them long enough to get a bit further towards BSL, then trim a little so you're still beyond APL? Your hemline's nice and full, and your hair is so glossy :)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I’m trying to do the no trim first half so far I’m doing good so I think I should at least finish that and then reassess
The ends are really yellow in real life and have that weird fuzzy looking texture . If you look at my hair you can clearly see where the bleach damage starts
However I think your right
I feel so much better at APL rather than hovering in the No mans land between shoulder and APL
I never anticipated the time it would take to get from shoulder to APL
I thought both were quite close but they really are a huge distance apart

Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thank you for all the compliments I wish my hair was how you describe it lol :)
I’m definitely not going to trim yet
It makes sense after the long struggle I’ve had to get here
In fact I think it only seemed so long as I was trimming last year and since stopping the trimming I see growth
I thought my hair had stopped growing at one point
It just shows how easy it is To trim more than you grow

Isn't it just! I'm reluctant to book in my half-yearly trim in June because I don't want to have that month or two again when it feels like it's stopped growing. And that was only from a 2cm trim. I had decided to push this back until October, but I'm on the fence about it now.
I'm glad the struggle is finally nearly over and you're getting there :)
