Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
As well as the fact that silvers can be pretty (I mean, seriously, who wouldn't want luluj's hair?), I like the idea of having a surprisingly-young face compared with my hair, instead of a surprisingly-old face. You know? I know it's not a flattering colour on some people though.

I've become infatuated with the idea of the crone.

I love it! Compared to the wisdom and confidence of age, youth seems so new and common. These might not be the right words. I just find age and the visible signs of life on the body so much more appealing than the plasticized beauty our culture promotes.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
^^ my inner crone approves of this post
I want to enjoy this part of my life first, though :)
Also, I know 35 year olds who are mostly grey and I wouldn't call them crones. Just awesome.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Length Update! I am now at 19.25" so I think my hair is growing an inch a month. My hair is really damaged so I still think it will be early spring 2015 before I am at APL, but....who knows
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'll be at apl in five months if my hair sticks to its 1cm a month growth. I am hoping for a summer spurt though. The problem I've got though is the longer my hair gets the curlier it gets and at the moment it's eating up 3 inches of growth. I'm hoping when I get those 5cm it will pull my hair down a bit. Otherwise it's going to take until next year to look apl. I desperately need to chop off 3 inches which I'm only planning to do at apl. Not all at once, just my new growth so I really hope I look apl this year.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
eva888 that's great growth, I'm envious but happy for you!
diddiedaisy I have shrinkage too, it sucks but I'm consoling myself with the idea that one day it will weigh itself down like you say and I will magically get loads more.

I know how you feel! I've been measuring my hair when wet because it's the only way to get an accurate measurement for growth etc. It is managing to keep hovering at this shoulderish length even though it's grown an inch. I'm not sure if it's because of the wurlyness plus that it's hitting my shoulders and curling up. Oi! It drives me crazy. I imagine that I will eventually reach APL and then have to keep growing for at least a month to be at a true APL when dry. Hang in there! I think that the hair does weigh down when it gets a little longer! ....at least I hope it does!

I really like what you've said here...it puts into words something my brain has been circling around for a while, but that I couldn't really explain
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I can see that my hairs growing as it looks longer on days it can't be bothered to curl much, so why does my measurement always come out at 18.5 inches!!!! Am I so rubbish at measuring? Lol. I also know it's grown as when I tip my head right back I'm at bsl. I might start walking round like that!!!
