:grouphug:
As a fellow 2c/3a, I totally feel your pain.
But your hair is definitely past APL wet! :applause Are you waiting until it's APL dry to assume the official title and category?

Luluj, you look armpit length to me! It's just in a round hemline, do you want it straight across (blunt)?
My hair has finally started to inch past shoulder! Hurray!
Hi Lianna :waving: Yes, it does look like a round hemline. I have only had one trim since the pixie and I did it myself using Feye's Method (first time for self trimming:p) and this is the result. I may add some layering in the future, we'll see. I don't know that I want a blunt hemline.
Okay, I'm claiming shoulder length now, and quite a lot of it touches my collar bone at the front when pulled straight, so I'm jumping in here with you ladies! :D
I'm another curly/wavy, so it bounces up a LOT, even moreso the longer it gets.
Luluj, that definitely looks like the bottom layers are at APL to me. :)
Thanks. It is nice to be back here. :)
I can finally wear just a hairstick and have a secure updo! And I have lots of layers. :cheese:

I invite you all shoulder lengths to try it too!
My hair doesn't seem to want to be at APL. The closer I get to it when wet, the more it shrinks and bounces up when dry. My hair actually appears to get shorter as it's growing longer.
"You want us to go where?! No way Jose! " *jumps up*
Woohoo!! What kind of updo - is it a peacock twist? I wonder if my hair is long enough.
I'm tempted to get a professional trim to clean mine up and shape it but that might be because my hair is a complete mess today. I should wash & style it properly before I decide about the haircut. I went on a trip and tried to save suitcase space by putting conditioner in my almost-empty shampoo bottle and using that mixture to wash my hair (which no real conditioner afterwards). That was a BAD IDEA ... my hair felt so rough and tangly. I got home late last night and slept with it wet because I was too tired to dry it and too stinky after a long drive to go to bed without a shower. My poor hair feels horrible and frizzy and rough.
@jaine
It's a french twist. I twisted, tried to stuck all the ends :D, held in my hand while getting the stick. Then I "poke" in the middle where there's a lot of hair, then went around an edge of the twist (this makes it very secure) and pushed the hairstick down. I think you can do it!! :D
I even did one on my mom. :D:D:D Now she has one third of my hairsticks, lol. I had only 3. :p Soon hairstick shopping! I think two prong forks would be good too (I'm pretty sure 3-4 prongs could hold my hair before, I just bought one yesterday)
ETA: Like this, only with a hairstick, combs work easier. It's just a thrill to know I could use a hairstick though!

Lianna - Where did you buy your hair stick ?
It's pretty! I'm in desperate need of new hair sticks! I have 4 ... of the same design. :( *Sigh*
The hairstick says thank you. :p There's just this little shop near my house with lots of cute but cheap things. I buy hair things there all the time. Most toys featured in LHC are pretty expensive to me, and I couldn't afford many, I actually did a thread on the subject.
I found this ebay seller
Ohh! Maybe I could by some from them! Thanks Lianna! :D :D Yes - I agree that alot of the hair sticks people here have are really expensive. I'd have to save up for a while! :P
Well done, Lianna!
I can do one of those, but too many bits fall out for it to look reasonable. ;)
Multi-pronged forks also work really well at this stage. The oregonjewelry/speharb hair forks on etsy are usually about $28 so are not too bad price-wise. When I first came to LHC I was shocked at how much you can spend on hair toys. I guess the market adapts to demand.
I just had most of my layers cut a couple of weeks ago, now it might take me 8 months to get to apl. I'm not sure, but it will take me a year to get to BSL.
A couple more inches and mine will be shoulder length. I'm new, I figured out BSL but what is APL?!?
arm pit length
I am officially APL when wet!!! So happy! :D
But I'm aiming for APL Dry! So i'm still here with you lot! :D
The longest part of my hair is there but the rest is nowhere close. I feel like I am never going to get there! So close and yet so far away....

I feel that I might be having a growth spurt as summer kicks in ... I'm still a couple of inches off APL though. Still it’s all about how you feel right!!
On a side note, a good way to see if you're at APL is to use a towel; wrap it around you like you would when you get out of the shower pulling it right up under your AP and trying to keep it straight across your back. Is your hair tucked in under the towel... APL!!
Oh, one day..
OK I finally got a picture of my asymmetrical layer frustration. What do you think ... leave it alone or get a stylist to fix it?
This is not my natural wave pattern by the way ... the issue only shows up when I dry it in a way that stretches out my waves. That one section on the left refuses to stay straight. But I like drying it this way because I can easily go 3 or 4 days before it starts to look frizzy ... with waves and curls I have no such luck.

I've been at shoulder for about six months.....my hair grows incredibly slow, so I won't hit APL for another year.
Oops, never mind about that flip ... it's gone now. I cut it.
(((hides in shame)))

Welcome annieangel149!
Here is my image from the "last hair picture of 2010" thread.
Look how close to APL I am!!! Maybe only one more month or two?
It needs a brushing and my hemline is a little crazy from not cutting for 15 months, but you get how my hair looks. I also included my first real hair length shot so you can see my progress.

I know, I'm so close to APL. In a few days I'm going to the hair stylist. Don't know what's going to happen.
Takes me forever to gain any length. I need regular trims (about every 3 months to keep ends healthy). Plus I get about 5" of shrinkage from wet to dry due to my curls. And it ain't APL to me until I see my hair there dry/curly. Happy new year to you guys too!  Hugs to you all from all of us. With wet hair, I'm almost at BSL.
