If you have any trouble getting the oil out, there is an article on how to use conditioner in a specific way to remove the excess oil.

In my excitement about my new sulfur powder based oil, I accidentally over oiled, and my hair looked a right mess. I actually ended up blotting up the excess with translucent makeup setting powder and a complexion blotting sheet, and then the rest came out in my normal shampoo.

I tried ktani's oil shampoo once and it took a whole week of daily shampooing/conditioning for the oil to come out of my hair. o_o
I haven't touched oil since. :o

I feel like there might be some breakage, it doesn't feel soft at all. I quit heat months ago and I've greatly conditioned my hair. Do I just need to use some treatments (I haven't used treatments yet) or gulp, chop the ends off? I did get about an inch off a month and a half ago.
Thanks in advance!
It really sounds like you need to clarify. What do you think, ladies?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Tangirl, I also would highly recommend the SMT. PM me or search for the thread if you need more info on that.

I think that everyone needs to clarify once in a while. If she hasn't she could try it and see if her hair improves.

To clarify means to strip any build up off of your hair. All shampoos and conditioners and styling products can build up on hair and even natural products like oils can leave residue over time.
You can clarify with a clarifying shampoo like Prell or Neutrogena Anti-Residue. Avoid shampoos labeled as "daily clarifying" because they usually contain 'cones and/or protein. Not that you need to avoid 'cones and protein, but they are counterproductive to true clarifying.
You can also clarify with baking soda and vinegar or lemon juice. To do this, you first shampoo with a 'cone free shampoo and then wash with 1tsp of baking soda dissolved in 8oz of water. Rinse. Then follow with another rinse of either vinegar (white or apple cider) or lemon juice diluted at least 1:4 in water.
You can follow your clarifying with your regular conditioner but it's also a good time for a deep-moisture treatment like an SMT.
Here's the SMT thread.
HTH :)
