Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I do peacock twists or French twists mainly for work. Now I’ve started experimenting with buns. I used to hate wearing my hair up & when I had longer hair before (pre-LHC) I used to straighten it every single day! Still can’t believe I did that! Now if I wear it down it’s air dried & I embrace the texture which is a bit more wavy. I am getting it blow dried in a salon twice over December though (which I am a little worried about) for 2 Christmas events.

I don't think blow drying it two times will make any difference :) Unless you like it so much that you'll want to go back to doing it every day, that is! Plus: At the salon, they are professionals, and will most likely take good care of your hair with heat protection etc. Don't worry about it!

Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hello, I'm kinda of new on this forum.. When I last had a pixie cut 2 years ago, I went through the LHC to give me the courage to go through the awkward stage. It took about a year. The next year I dyed my hair blond and... played with it (even though I had spent the previous year going all healthy and natural 😅) The last time I bleached it, was last December and I was at SL. Fast forward to now, I have CBL and only half of my head and on'y the top layers are blond/brown. I cut a lot of inches this year because they were too damaged. But now I'm motivated to continue the growth. Hoping to attain APL by February 2020? What do you do guys to maintain the already fragile ends and thus lengthen the period between trims? Thank you!

Welcome! Nice to have you here.
Growing out a pixie is impressive! it's so tempting to cut it once it gets to those awkward lengths!
I can easily go a year, or even more, without having to trim my ends because of damage. Maybe I'm lucky with genes, or maybe it's what I do with my hair. Or a combination of both. I wear my hair up a lot. I use hair masks every time I wash my hair. I've stretched my washes, so I only wash my hair every five days or so. I don't use heat on my hair. I use oil in my ends if they're feeling dry.

I'm also pretty new! I think I've officially reached shoulder length now so I'm joining this thread :) My hair is growing out from chin length since spring. I really dislike this length and don't really know what to do with my hair so I hope it grows fast!

Thank you for replying :)
Haha Bobby pins and crown braids (sort of) were my best friends then.
A year! Wow I hope one day I'll be able to go that long without getting bored ^^'
Thank you for the tips! I'll try those to protect my damaged ends more =)

Yay! Welcome! The more, the merrier! I agree, shoulder length is a real nomansland, especially if your goal length is way beyond that. Happy growing!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Do any of you guys use hair sticks and/or forks? I've been cycling through periods of wanting to chop to collarbone length and was curious whether I'd still be able to use sticks at that length... I'm now in an "off period" where I'm not fighting the urge to chop (lol!) but I'm still curious about the sticks! I did find some hair stick tutorials for shorter lengths on YouTube. If anyone's interested, I could dig up the links again?

Please do! I don't own any forks or sticks yet, but I was able to put it up with a pencil. My hair is just a bit past collarbone length :)
