Had to redo it once and it's still far from perfect, but at least it starts high on the head and continues down. Small steps, small steps!
Looks so long! :applause

Also can someone link me instructions for the Spock bun? I've seen it mentioned several times but haven't seen instructions.

It looks fantastic, though, NightSister! I also love your hair toy :)
Atm I sit here with a completely failed cinnabun, but it's too dark to take a photo so I have to wait. I do envy you guys who can make nice-looking buns at this length. I don't know if I'm just bad at it or if my hair just won't have it.
I do think I will try to make some braided hairstyle later today, but for now this "cinnabun" is quite comfortable. So, in some hours I should be posting two photos!
Corvana! You can't just forget to take a photo! :p in all fairness though, I almost forgot earlier this week, and I did forget to even make a braid a few days ago :silly: I hope I will be able to make something and upload a photo of it for the remaining days I have in this thread, maybe all december out, but yeah, sometimes the mind is elsewhere!
You all know something? I'm really happy I decided to get rid of my part. I know I made a thread about it a year or so ago, where I questioned why I even had a part, and people brought me back on earth telling me hair parts naturally, whether I like it or not. But yesterday, after my wash to make the hair typing photo, I decided to try to get rid of it, so I clipped the top portion of my hair back, and I've been changing it up many times since then. It worked! Sure, if my hair falls too much to the sides it will make a temporary part wherever the hair "splits" on the top of the head, but I no longer have a main part, my hair will make that part wherever!
I don't know why I am so happy about this, maybe because I've been so unsure about how to part my hair, and I've been concerned about the "you should change where you part your hair every not and then to prevent the part from going wider". That would mean that IF I found a good-looking way to part my hair, I would eventually have to change it up because of paranoia.
Some rambling, haha, but oooh I'm so happy that my hair is not falling back into one part anymore! I will have to have it clipped back to prevent it from going in my face, maybe my hair will shape to that eventually but it will probably take some time.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Alright, I started the day with a "cinnabun", I thought "why not take a photo of this thing?", so I did.

Then I made a half up cinnabun, mostly because I wanted to try it out, it also held well, but it turned out a bit too tight for my liking, so I took it down after an hour.

And then I did my braid for today, a fishtail braid down my back. I tried to start it a bit further up on the head, but that doesn't really show, I guess I did something wrong.

They all look a bit sloppy, the first cinnabun for sure (it got all the ends poking out everywhere, I have no idea how it could be so stable, looking like that, but jeterforks are magic). The fishtail I'm pretty pleased with, I like the sloppy look there. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to do it down my back, but my layers will probably make it fall apart quite soon.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thanks Fairyxlights and Estrid! My hairtoy was from TotallyTiedAndDyed on Etsy :)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Ordered 3 hair forks from TotemicSan on Etsy. I can't wait for them to get here!

I didn't braid at all yesterday  I ended up forgetting! I forget everything, basically all of the time.
It took me awhile to get rid of my center part. Now I prefer to part it on the side, but I try to flip it around so it doesn't stay in one place. I really love the look that gives, when you just run your fingers through and flip your hair to one side or the other? :crush: My part ends up different all the time now, since I no longer try to make it neat or anything.

My cinnabuns do exactly the same thing!! Half exploding, but stable as heck, or a half-up but too tight for long periods of time. Frustrating lol. Although I've found a nautilus for half-ups to be much more comfy.
