Woohoo!! I'm supposed to measure tomorrow, but I might do it today LOL. I smell like baby spit up and need a shower real bad. But I'm also excruciatingly tired (babysitting the past couple days), so I don't want to have to trudge upstairs to wash even if I need it.

Yay! Flippies!

That's so little! You'll soon be there :o

Never knew someone could be waiting for this stage! Congrats though! Progress is always nice, even if it means reaching an annoying stage.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Well RIP me lol. I believe my growth has settled down for the winter, as I seem to be holding steady at ~.5"/mo.
So as it stands I'll hit APL in about March? I'm trying to make myself less sad about it by reminding myself that if I hadn't had that extra inch growth spurt (that I'm aware of, since I started tracking in May), that my projected time frame for APL would be next May or June. So I'm saving a couple months!
Buuuuuuuut I could've been there by my birthday if I was still holding steady at 1"/mo

Haha, on no! now you have the same growth rate as me! if 1" per month is your usual rate I'd say this "slow period" might not last too long, don't fret :p
Let's hope your hair gets going again, I can't really picture how annoying it must be to expect a certain date and then have it delayed! My hair has always been quite consistent in the growth rate, so even though it's "slow" (average I suppose is the right word), I always know.

That's not too far away. And at least it's settled to an average growth rather than slower than average. I hope you have another spurt though and get there by your birthday anyway :cheer:

I think it sucks extra because if it was just a growth spurt I picked a terrible time to start measuring LOL. And if it's a stall (I am shedding longer hairs so they may be at the end of their cycle idk), then all I could do was accept it anyway.
If it were consistent at whatever rate, I wouldn't be too bothered at all. It would just be one of those "it's this and always has been" sort of things.
I'm just so ready to manage a disc bun! I would've (maybe) gotten it next month, but now I gotta wait until at least November  Although I keep forgetting about my Ficcare beak clip (not the maxima, which would probably hold a teeny bit better), and apparently I can make a very sloppy disc with it!

Yeah it's not too bad, really! Just gonna take me an extra month to have that last inch I want for better updos :P
And I hope so too! Thank you!

Haha, oh wow, a disc bun so soon?? I don't remember when I was first able to do those the first time around, but I tried now (had completely forgotten about this bun) and my hair is so short, I think I must've had closer to BSL last time I did this bun, it should probably work with another 10 cm or so, but now? Noo
I understand, lets hope it wasn't a growth spurt, even if it looked insanely fast to me, it would be awesome if that was your normal growth rate.

I tried to do a disc bun recently and I need a good solid 2" more to make it work. Looking forward to using my forks again!

Oh whether it works or not is very subjective. I'd say it more "works" than works LOL. I can get the first half to wrap around the base one time, for most of it. Some is still a bit too short to make it. The second half goes like 3/4s of the way, again just "most" of it, the rest pops out. But the clip will hold the middle! And then the ends slooooowly start exploding

It's there, and also exploding. Better than with a stick or something (that just unravels completely), but uh... It's... It's something :rollin:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I decided there is no reason not to call APL now. I microtrimmed a couple times over the summer when it was hovering around there, but now it is definitely long enough. I am still debating whether I want to get a professional trim later in the fall though because the ends are pretty uneven.
