Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
RobinBanks, it's not like I'm advertising chemicals, but you know, I've been here a while and tried to "go natural" only to be quite miserable, really. I'm prepared to face my future if that means I can't get to tailbone length, though I see quite a bit hip length dyed hairs around here where I live. There are also support groups here for those that want to quit dyes/bleach. I only mention thouse because you seem you want to dye/highlight.
Good advice I found around here is to put some coconut oil prior to the dyes/chemicals, because it protects the hair (prevents protein loss). Also do just root touch ups whenever possible (try not to go over the length, but some people do that occasionally with hair dye and still have good results). I personally like olive oil to seal my ends on a daily basis (light oilings).

Thanks for the info, I better get to it since I have thee inches of new growth. I'm actually going to put some coconut oil on my ends before bed. I have sulu max grow on my roots. I definitely believe that nutrition is key and that's something you can't get away from. I say keep at it! don't give up on your goal.:D

Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Oooh, so darn close to APL. It definately reaches APL in the front when hair is wet but I can't quite tell in the back..........it should be the same right? I hesitate to call it APL til I am for sure and when I get there dry ya know?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
As far as I can tell, hair tends to APL first in the back, then in the front. So I guess you already reached APL. At least in a wet state :D

It is just the arm pit crease right? That is our marker right?
The dumb thing, it seems to reach it easier on the left side than the right. Darn unevenish hair.

I feel the frustration, when my hair is wet I'm so, so close, dry...not so much. NAE, I'm with you when you say "darn enevenish hair!" Anyway, here is my latest photo, am I even close?
