A friend posted a pic of me on FB with bleached blonde APL length hair. I'm currently hendigoed 1 in past shoulder length... What a change, but I cannot wait to see my 4 inches of non-chemically treated hair to turn into BSL. That should take me about (carry to 2...) 21 inches of growth @ .5/month... just over a couple of years.. Sheesh, let's stick to the small goal of APL - that should come by the end of the year!

Hi, growing my hair from shoulder (just) to APL. Why when you want it to grow long does it take longer:( My last cut was last November, it was cut to a chin length bob then. But no trims since:) I do have a fringe (bangs) I have a high forehead, so doesn't suit me without:( Taking vitamins, and going to start castor oil on scalp as soon as it arrives:D
Would be nice to get to APL by xmas, but it may take a year:(
I'm pretty solidly shoulder now, so I guess I can join in! I had APL length as a teen, but have kept it pixie-bob length since. Sooooo ready to have longer hair! Though I have to say that I do hate the awkwardness of this length. The 'peacock' is the only way I can really find to put it up :confused:
Well I did a serious check for length today and I am definitely at shoulder now so I'll join as well!

Do you know your growth rate? You can use to calculate how long it will take. Everyone is different.Quote:

Thanks! I don't know my growth rate yet, but it feels like my hair grows at an average, if not a bit above average rate. I guess I should start measuring regularly. But generally, I've never had an issue with growth rate but I've got a lot of fine/thinning hair issues.Quote:

Hi! Well I've been at it 18 months (1/2" to go) but I have done a lot of trimming to get rid of bleach and damage. Most people say its around a year between each stage but it depends on your growth rate and how often you intend to trim and how much you trim, if like me you have damage it can take longer because of breakage.
