If I had 3c or 4's I'd probably measure stretched, since the difference between curly and straight is greater. I could be shoulder curly and waist pulled, so I wouldn't see much purpose to measure just curly (since really long can look just SL or APL). If one grows to greater lengths they should be able to refer to their hair like so, even if it "doesn't show". They have the same merits as straghties, if not more (?) since curly hair is more troublesome. Everyone has their diferent merits (curly, fine, treated, etc).
I feel like I'm gonna be on this thread for a long while though! I'm starting to get 2 coils at the bottom when wet! :D
Yeah me too...the bottom is the curliest part of my hair. It'll take me a while to get to apl...maybe 1 more year, although I had hoped to be there by December I just don't think that's realistic...
Does tilting your head to oneside count :p. What I think I will do is have a teeny tiny hair straightening session when I think I've reached apl (shhh) just for photographic evidence then I'm on to BSL and beyond. I have waited 18 months to get this far so I need some motivation to keep growing. In my eyes apl is when hair starts to be long.Quote:

I can feel my locks trailing down my upper back now which feels nice! I play guitar with a band and it feels good to whip it out the way to stop it getting caught under my guitar strap!! Summer has finally arrived in the UK and im hoping the season will accelerate my hair growth so all is good here!!! :cheese:
At the shorter lengths I count my hair length as when it's straight/wet as I'm impatient :) and my natural curly waves can cause 2-3inches shrinkage.
Once it hits longer lengths such as BSL/Waist then I start to count it at natural curly texture.
I find that my hair actually looks much longer when it's curly than when I wear it straight. When it's straight it is so thin, it looks extra short. When I curl it... there's a lot of it!
I have about one inch to go to APL. It needs to hurry up!
