Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I've gone and done it...
I had been thinking about a dip-dye for a few weeks now, so the two-week-wait was surely past and I still felt like it.
Yesterday I bought a nice red-ish dye, and today was playtime. I'm quite pleased with the results.

It is a temporary and gentle dye. I think I might have chosen MP, if I knew where to find it in a shop here.
In different lighting all my hair looks a different color again, but that is ok.
I had to get used to the dullness of my own haircolor next to the vibrant red, though.
And besides all that, this is now my hairtyping picture. I made sure I was too busy to fingercomb my hair while it was drying. I think it's more 1c than the 1b I guestimated.
Last but not least: I did a microtrim last week, took about 0.5cm of the ends and it looks well. If I can stay away from the scissors long enough, I want to trim this much every two to three months.

Very pretty, and I'd agree with 1c! :D
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I don't like how thin my ends are right now, but I know if I trim too much I'll be almost-APL foreverrrr.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm only one inch from APL straight! Yay!
Now to add the next set of lines to my measuring shirt.
Eta: I'm going to stick around in this thread until I get to APL wavy. I'm going to be here for a long time, I get around 3 to 4" of shrinkage.
I'll still do my measurements as straight though, it's easier to track that way.

I'm also about one inch away from APL :D I haven't measured in awhile though because I was becoming obsessed about it and not really enjoying my hair. I'm going to wait until the end of January and see if I've finally made it.

This picture was taken the day I got my last trim. The stylist pretty much made an executive decision and cut layers into my hair. :(

Taken today after I washed and flat ironed my hair. My hair is so naturally curly (and not in an attractive way) I don't feel confident going out in public without straightening it....it's that bad. The hem here looks sparse and the middle/sides look kind of spiky. I guess it's from the layering because my hair was laying more flat before. :(
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
How do you feel about the layers Ghirazel? I think they look pretty on you, but I'd be quite upset (understatement) if the stylist did that to me without asking.

I think your hair is just at that length when Feye's self-trimming method starts to become possible. Why still go to a stylist and let them mess with your hair.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hi everyone!! I think I am at APL but shrinkage does make it hard to tell.
I have been looking through this thread and thinking I should do a photo in a towel to make my progress more visible?
I do not see much progress really but the sides seem a bit more full.
