Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
That's funny you should say that. I was always told it was thick, by hairdressers etc., and then when I did the pony tail measure for the profile, I was disappointed thinking, guess its not as thick as I thought (I guess I was expecting to be in the highest category). But maybe only folks with kinky curly hair would be?

I believe there's a lot of members here who have thick, fine hair. Check out this thread, you might find it helpful:

Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
i cut my hair to chin length in january 2011, it is now just past my collar bone. Unfortunately i am tall with a long neck and torso so it is going to take about a year to get to APL im guessing...:(
oh well, i have never had hair longer than a few inches past collar bone so APL to me will seem really long :D I will probably maintain at apl to get rid of some layers.

Hello! I'm new here, but also hair to just below the shoulders. I'm a little unsure about where I should start. What would you recommend? Want to have healthy and long hair! Two years ago I had really short hair ..

I was the same. Hairdressers always told me my hair was so thick, and then I find out I have a 2.75" ponytail. I do still have bangs and faceframing layers, though, so there is hope.

Are you having any problems with your hair? Maybe we can start with those.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Is anyone else having the feeling that their hair just completely stopped growing??
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
hi RedBlue, yes I feel exactly the same way! I feel better that I'm not alone. I guess it's this stage of growing from shoulder too APL is the hardest. Everyone says the saame thing on this thread. I sure don't know why, its very frustrating. but let's be patient, it isn't getting any shorter, eh? It's just gotta grow...if anyone else is like this please post...
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Ugh. I'm having an AWFUL hair week. I just started a new job, and I'm trying to make sure my hair looks cute and nice for work. I feel so blah and frumpy with my hair this length. Shoulder to APL is the worst. I have layers, so I can't really do any buns, and I feel like it's not really flattering on me right now. This is always the point that I get to before I end up chopping back to chin length. Does anyone have any style suggestions for me? I'm feeling pretty down about my hair in general right now (I've blown it dry three times this week and I keep beating myself up about it, and last week my hairstylist friend noticed that I have breakage underneath my hair from ponytails). Any words of encouragement are appreciated!
