I took my year end picture today with the waves brushed. Its longer than I thought it was! I might do a tiny trim, but I am feeling good about reaching APL by Summer 2019. I will be really glad to be back to APL again. I feel like that is a really good length for me. Long enough to wear up easily, but short enough to wear down whenever I want. After I reach APL I will see if I want to continue on.

Great waves and shine, ReadingRenee! We have the same goal of reaching APL by summer :hifive:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hi everyone! I'm growing out a quasi-mullet at the moment(a super layered bob with bangs in all lengths at the front and... well, not quite party in the back; some kind of weird squared-off, blunt hemline, with a short couple of layers on top. Yes, I asked for this). The longest part of it is brushing my shoulders right now, so I'm paranoid about not oiling my ends and keeping whatever hair I have up, at alle times of the day
Aerya, I'm already jealous:p

Welcome Danglish!

Great progress, Reading Renee. Your waves look very pretty brushed Too. :) :flower:
I am about 4 months away from APL i think and since i decided to Not trim my hair for the next 6 months, i have a good chance of getting there in spring. That is if my shrinkage won't get "worse". My waves eat up a good bit of my length lately.

Thank you Stray_mind. :) I like to be able to switch back and forth, sometimes more curly looking, sometimes wavy, sometimes barely wavy at all. I know what you mean about wave shrinkage though. So glad you decided to hold off on the drastic trim! You have made so much progress, with it being only 4 months away to reach a major goal, I think waiting sounds like a good decision.

I know what you mean about wanting the texture to change on your whim, hahaha. My hair has a character of it's own. After washing and air drying it is either 2a wavy or 2b wurly, depending on the mood. On day two it can get just slightly wavy, almost 1c/2a and later on it can even be completely 1 c straight...
I prefer my texture post washing and air drying, but i don't know how to keep it that way, as my waves straighten out a good bit after i keep it in a bun for some time. I get big and kinda loose bun waves.

Same here. When my hair is longer and I wear it up in a bun all the time, my waves get pretty loose. The only way I can keep my spirals and wurls past the first day of washing is to use gel and I really don't like stuff in my hair.
I have a pic of my bun waves from last year before I cut my hair. Almost exactly a year ago. I would be happy if my hair looked like this all the time. It's funny how we don't appreciate what we have sometimes until we lose it.

Your bun waves look gorgeous!
Don't worry, you'll get them back. :)
I also don't fancy using gels in my hair.
