Thank you! Looking back at the original picture, the towel might have slid down a little by moving around to take pictures
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I just took out my extensions. I'm struggling accepting this length but I'm so ready to grow it. I really just want it to my boobs! Lol. Wondering how long this will take 😫. It's just a little under collar bone right now
How do I post a pic 🤷🏻*♀️

The length of time will probably depend on how fast your hair grows (the average is about 1/2" a month), and how tall you are. As for posting pictures, you have to upload them to an image hosting site like imgur, and then put the url between [ IMG ] tags.

I'm also having that hair caught in stuff thing. Which is kinda nice, because it hasn't happened in years. But it's also a reminder that I need to wear it up when I'm out.
Kinda off topic, but yesterday, my partner came home from work wearing a set of knitting needle U pins and it was adorable. Possibly his first bun for work, looked good too (his hair's approaching hip again now, and gets caught in everything, so it's nice to see it protected!).
I got it from Wish! The ends are blunt, though, which suck for putting it in. My husband is going to look at them and see if he can modify it!

Cause that's double congrats then!:)
_fred_, your partner's hair is approaching hip, did I read that right? I've always found it a bit...humiliating to see a man with longer, nicer looking hair than mine (but that's just me), I don't know exactly why...maybe because most men don't bother so much with hair care, they just do the benign neglect thing, and it seems to be working for them. Meanwhile, here I am, doing all these treatments (my DH calls it hocus-pocus) and I'm struggling to get to APL :D. Funny enough, it was actually a man (a musician) that inspired me to grow my hair long, I though "if he could do it, so can I". I still have to prove it.
floraflowerpowe, you have such a lovely hair color and texture! Are you sure that towel is sitting right? It seems a bit too low for APL
Thank you! That specific one was extra fluffy because it was very clean and didn't want to stay super well. You can see my ends sticking up at the top! It's a bit loose of a bun.
And yeah I need to maybe redo it a couple times on a sensitive noggin day, but overall it's not too bad!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thank you! Looks like my hair grew about 3 inches from October until now. I'll have to get on a site to post pics

Yup! It was TBL for a long while, but he wasn't exactly being gentle with it, and was getting frustrated that it seemed to have reached terminal, and wasn't as thick as it used to be. When I joined here, he started picking up tips, and then he lobbed off the unhealthy ends one day, taking it back to waist. He's now reaching hip again, and it looks so much better. I still need to get him a satin pillowcase, but he's definitely embraced the 'no brushing wet' rule, thank goodness!
It's really common where we live for guys to have super long hair - mostly because we know LARPers and re-enactors etc., and we both work in heritage. I can definitely identify with feeling a bit envious of them every so often, especially our friend whose hair grows so damn fast. He dyed it all black a few years ago, and it's virtually grown out now, and he maintains around TBL (definitely not his terminal, just seems to be the longest he can stand it!). They're not all that lucky though - another of our friends thinks he's reached terminal just below APL, but I have a feeling it could have something to do with the way he treats it!
I hope you'll get to APL soon. From what I've seen, your hair's looking healthy and happy, and it's definitely growing :)

Hi and welcome! If you've already hosted the pic online somewhere, you can use the Insert image option at the top of the post comment box.
How long were your extensions btw? I hope it won't take you too long to get to your goal length.

Ah, I can see how that'd be a problem! It is lovely though. Is that a shop on Etsy? If so I'll check them out after Lent.
Thinking of forks, finally got my cheap wooden fork to sit right so it's nice and secure! I did sand it down when I got it! It's a very cheap rough thing, bought so I could see if I like this kind of fork before investing in something from Etsy. Also, bun! And a bun that's not completely exploding! And with hidden ends! Had a headband on all day because my ears were cold.

(Also, I finally ordered in a whittling knife, so I can have a go at making my own hairsticks and forks. I've got some seasoned wood donated by a kind friend's dad. It should arrive Saturday, so excited!)

Oh no, it's not an Etsy shop. It's an app, and it's a lot like alibaba or something like that? You basically buy stuff at or close to wholesale directly from China. My husband got it, a dark hair stick (that I gave to my roommate), and a dark wood 2-prong fork off of there for me back when I first joined here and was talking about hair forks and stuff! As a bit of a test case, and also to show me that he was listening to me and supporting my hair growing journey! (although I admit to seeing identical ones on etsy and looking at them like :hmm: resellers? I know they used to be a huuuuge problem back in like 2010 when I paid attention to etsy lol. But I stopped paying attention maybe a year or two later and have no idea if they're still a big thing)
That fork is really pretty! I think it's a good idea to test new stuff if possible, so you can figure out what you like! So far I know I really like forks (the more prongs, the better!), and spiral sticks. I don't have any smooth sticks, though, so idk if I'd like them too! Probably.
I'd love to learn to whittle, but I'm also incredibly clumsy and I think I'd lose a finger

_fred_, your buns look so voluminous, really pretty!
(bun envy here...)

Ah, thank you for the info! I might have a hunt around eBay after Easter and see what there is. Now it's Lent I'm not allowed to buy anything non-essential, so I probably shouldn't look just yet!
It's so sweet of your husband to get you those!
LOL, I'm also concerned about chopping chunks out of my hands, so the whittling knife I've ordered has an integrated thumb guard!

Thank you! :flower: It's not super tight though, so there's a fair bit of air in there! Every so often I don't wind it tight enough and suddenly, exploding bun! (often accompanied by the ping of one of my U pins bouncing off down the road...)
