Thank you! And :grouphug: it's not the size of the bun that matters (imo, what matters is whether it does what you need it to do! Not really relevant, but one of my colleagues at work has such lovely fine hair and can put her SL lob into a small bun that stays up by itself with not a single pin or other means of fixing, as long as she doesn't shake her head. It's pretty impressive!)

Me too! And thank you :D I'm definitely getting the urge to buy more...

Thanks :D I'd definitely recommend it! I'm still getting used to wearing it - because it's quite top heavy it's such a different balance. Felt very odd at first!
I got my first set of knitting needle U pins on the swap board, and the others I made myself. It was really easy to bend the aluminium knitting needles, the harder part was getting the colour smooth when I spray painted them. These are definitely still my favourite things to keep my hair up with though.

Isn't it just! Thank you! :blossom:
BTW, I'm loving the peach-to-pink.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thank you all! But do remember that my hair is aaaaaaaalways slightly exploding some in every bun I do so that makes them look bigger. I'm pretty sure that when I can finally get every bit to fully tuck in my buns will be smaller.
Also I 100% feel jealous of finer haired folk! And those with less hair because they can bun long before I can. Pros and cons! Make a list of the pros of your hair to look at when you feel down about it.

Thank you Corvana! :blossom:
I actually gave the disk bun a try, it came out smaller because I do the buns pretty tight, and the ends of my layers were poking out a little (eh, I'll just pretend it's a messy bun :p), but man, that bun holds like a rock! I wore it all day yesterday and, at some point, my daughter grabbed the stick and moved it around a little, but the bun stayed in place. I have a feeling it will be one of my favourites for work. I didn't know about it until you guys mentioned it!

I have really fine hair and I just assume I could never bum my hair with a hair toy as it would just fall out
I have no idea how to use hair toys and wouldn’t know where to start
Can fine hair really work with hair toys ?

I have a lightweight and short wooden hair stick that works well for me. Flexis are a bit too heavy, but I continue to try as I like them so much. They hold for a while, but not well. I like the look of forks too, but I doubt that I have enough hair to hold one. Maybe some day. Spin pins hold my hair very well, I think I bought them in Boots. But they're not decorative, if that's what you're after.

I’m looking for anything to bun my hair or try something different as I never bun my hair
I’d love to be able to do something different to a regular ponytail or a plait

Spin pins maybe, if you think your hair is long enough and unlayered enough to bun. IME they work, YMMV.

My buns are deceptively big because they are mostly half-exploded twists at the moment. I need another inch I think, to have a full coil that I can tuck the ends under the base. My ends won't tuck under in the center yet. I have to coil my buns the seashell method because my hair is too short to tuck under the outside edge of the first coil, yet (as with a cinnabun). All of these buns were wrapped in the same manner, yet none of them look the same.

Wispe, I'm amazed you've mastered these buns at this stage, I could barely get my hair to stay up when it is was WL!

Oh I've never heard of a disk bun, I'll have to check it out. I absolutely hate loose hairstyles, lol. Hopefully my hair is long enough for it!

Jumping in to ask what style you use with spin pins. I bought some a while back, but haven't tried them yet.
