Thank you! The colour is shockingly bright in real life! But I'm sure I'll get used to it and the bonus is, it feels incredibly silky and looks shiny.

Wow, that's great growth - see us all sign up for avocado oil now :-D

I'm a good 2-3 inches off APL and I can do a very small knot with a hairstick. It does stay all day though, so I use it when my hair needs washing. I don't have the length yet for a one stick lazy wrap bun, but that is my mini-goal. I love the look of that style. Really effortless and chic.

Wow, it got talkative in here! Awesome! Looks like I will have to check this thread more.
Yesterday I trimmed out more of my stupid layers. I can't wait till they are all GONE.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Wow! It has happened alot since I visited this thread last time:D Great!
Talking about oils, I personally use sweet almond oil and LOVE it. It doesn't smell anything and really gives my hair the moisture it needs. I find argan oil to light, but I like it alot anyways... :p
Keep on growing!!!
Hugs:heartbeat
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I use biological argan oil, I ound it in a nature store in my town and so happy for it!

I'm trying to decide if I want to trim out more of mine and maintain at shoulder, or go for APL/BSL and then trim out more layers...
I think I'm going to wait, since this is an awkward length for curlies!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I am trying to trim out my layers while I get to APL. Though, it is going to make the journey to APL seem forever! Must say I am glad it's getting more talkative in here. :)
I use some oils... Mainly Coconut. Though twice a week I use a caster/olive oil mix on my head overnight. I have no clue if it is helping my hair grow faster, but I am still doing it. :P
good growing all!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I use a teeny tiny amount of argan oil after my hair dries to tame the frizzies...but I've noticed that some people seem to be using oils after they wash their hair, while it's still wet. Does anyone have any advice about that?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Sometimes I use 2-3 drops of oil in soaking wet hair. Afterwards I squeeze out the water and apply my leave-in aso... That's how it works best for me....
Somehow every hair behaves different. I think you have to try which routine works best for you:
- oil in soaking wet hair
- oil in damp hair
- oil in nearly dry hair
- oil in dry hair

I apply oil while my hair is still wet. The wetter the better. The theory behind oiling while on wet or damp hair is that the oil seals the water inside the hair shaft. I use coconut oil and mineral oil. I also can get away with over oiling more when my hair is wet. That being said it is about trial and error (oiling wet/damp/nearly dry/dry)- outlined by Terra and finding what works for you :)

I'm going to do the same. Stupid layers. Haha. It'll take forever to get to BSL if I do that though, so I might wait until my longest layers get to BSL to start trimming.
