Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hello all, I've not been around the forums very much recently - dropping in to say hello, that everyone's hair looks most lovely, and to post a little update on mine, which is continuing to slowly crawl down from shoulder. This is today, with braid waves (I'm so happy it's long enough to braid now!)

My collarbone is about an inch or so above the bottom of the necklace, and my longest bits are - what, an inch or so past the necklace? I've not been measuring recently, which has been helping with being a bit less obsessive about my hair!
I had wondered if I might hit APL by the end of the year, but that's seeming wildly optimistic now - APL still seems a far and distant land!

Thanks so much, Iyashikei! I’m trying to enjoy each length along the way - which has been a lot easier since I passed chin and got rid of the post-pixie mullet!

Whoa! Your hair has gotten so long DropStitches! Also agree with Iyashikei that CBL length really looks good on you! I have been really loving braiding my hair now that its long enough too.
Welcome _melly_! Definitely shoulder length!
I have been experimenting with washing my hair more often and oiling it when wet. I have had really good results so far.
I have been looking back at many many old pictures and coming to the realization that I might not be able to grow my hair longer than APL and be happy with it. After APL it always starts thinning. Now, every time I have grown to BSL or MBL and cut back to APL, the ends look really good but then I either layer it or cut it to chin in the next week so I dont' know if the thickness can travel down or not. So in that case, if APL is going to be my ultimate length, I may as well trim now and get the ends the way I want them... it's not like I'm going to be stopping that much progress. These are just my thoughts. Still thinking about a trim.

Good evening! Working my way there.. This is about 5 months of growth. Definitely making progress but I'm already so impatient ahah. I also have a very long neck and torso so my goal seems so far away. (Went from brown to close to my natural)

I fixed the photos for you. :) They weren't displayed because you had used the page URL rather than the photo URL. You get the photo URL by right-clicking on the photo itself and then choosing to copy the photo URL.

The way I've been doing it since day 1is I grow for 3-6 months and then get a trim. That way my hair keeps vrowing at a steady pace but I also get rid of thinner or split ends. Yeah, my hair could have been longer but apart from that this method works for me.

Woohoo looking good everyone! Stitches I think our hairs around a similar length now ( yours is still longer)

Your hair still looks pretty thick, apl might just be an awkward length for you
