I've tried three different conditioners and two shampoos.
Ugggggh! My hair is dry now but I look like I dipped my head in melted butter! :scared:
Yikes! That's how my hair was after the first time I tried neelibhringadi. What kind of oil did you use?
Do you have a mineral powder foundation or setting powder? When I over oil, I dust a little of that over the really bad spots and it helps soak up the oil. So does dry shampoo, or even just cornstarch.

I used EVOO, but I used waaaaaaaay too much!
I hadn't oiled in months & I remembered after I had literally soaked my head in oil that you only really need a tablespoon at most. Silly me. :\
I just moved house so I have none of those - I actually just threw out my old setting powder a few days ago! Gah.
I think I got most of it out now, my hair is just.... really, really dry now. :(

What about a SMT left in to soak up the extra oil, massage it to get it out, then your hair might be more moisturized?

I've run out of Aloe Gel & Honey.. ! I'll get some tomorrow if I can & do the SMT just to baby my hair a little.
Thanks for the suggestion, btw. I've been so busy these past months that I've almost forgotten everything I learned here. :(

Ok, I now officially have a new "go-to", it's this. The "puffed out, braided-loop 'bun'."
Here's one with a flash brighter.

Fork it like ya mean it.

Thanks so much, Ravenheather. My hair is about three inches shorter than APL. I gathered it at the nape and started braiding, less than three "cycles" if you will. I flipped the braid up with the ends pointing up and tucked the ends under to make a loop against my head. Then I forked it. Then I pulled the braid strands gently apart to loosen them and puff them up. It's nice to have this option, as I always just tend to do a peacock twist and the "up and down" twist variation. I am also learning Lazy Wrap Bun, with some of Bunnysaur's suggestions helping me.

I kinda giggled at "forked it". :D That is a GORGEOUS style. I've got to get me a fork..
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Yeah, sorry, that was kinda crude, but I thought it was funny too!
Thank you for the compliment.
I have really enjoyed (too much) shopping for forks. My favorites are GTS and 60th street. GTS is closed for a few weeks and the 60th street forks are not being offerred very much at their ETSY shop. I have scored most of my forks from SWAP, which I stalk like nobody's business. The walnut GTS I just showed in that pic of my new 'do was off of SWAP.
