Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thank you, amanda_the_tall and butterflybutton :o My ponytail circumference is about 3.5" so I am pleased that I can do at least that messy one. Hopefully, by the end of this year (when I have *hopefully* reached bsl), I will be able to do pretty buns with a hair fork (or even a hair stick?). Can't wait till I'm there!
And Arctic, how sad that the photos didn't turn out good! Would have been fun to see :) But your hair is looking really nice in that length photo, so shiny :thud:
molljo, you sure know more styles than me (I have to practice on making braids). I don't know how much layers you got, but since I have layers too I think we should be able to make somekind of pretty bun by the end of this year, or well, at least we can think positive, right? ;)

Maybe your hair is much thicker than mine, but I've been doing a updos and buns and braids what seems like forever. I am just past shoulder length now. I just recently made a list of styles I do quite regularly in my blog. I can copy and paste it here, too.
***I'd also love to hear how everyone else is styling their hair, I could always use more any inspiration.***
It would be useful to mention your hairlength and thickness in your list, as the hairdos one can do differ a lot according to them. If people quote the ideas, no-one needs to go back to see the hair specs of original poster.
(will come back with the list in a second)
I can only do a tiny cinnabun but it's a little tight sometimes. Hair at a ii thickness is easier to make buns at shorter lengths though so we're lucky for that :p But I can't make anymore buns other than a cinnabun. It's too short and thick for a nautilus and my braids are too short to be bunning anyways.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Estrid - Thanks! I do have naturally shiny hair but also I'll have to give credits to the flash :) I ended up editing some of those photos that I originally thought were ruined (perfectionism, anyone?) and they turned out to be fine after all!
gthlvrmx - well may you quickly grow to a length where you can do the styles you'd like to do! I hope the same for everyone else too, ofcourse!

Alright, I have been continuing my photo project and have posted some of the hair styles that I can do in my blog. I will be adding more styles and photos in the near future, and I hope they would inspire someone else too! There isn't anything groundbreaking there, but there are many styles which add a nice variety to my repertoire.
I broke the series into 4 parts due to 10 photos limit per blog post.
The Braid Edition
The Bun and Updo Edition
The Half-Up Edition
The Other Styles Edition
The series is still very much in progress...
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
My shortest layers (not my face framing or bangs) are finally about to start touching my shoulders. Its been hard at times not to make it one even length. My longest layer right now is about 3inches from apl and my shortest , like i say,is hovering above my shoulders. I realized a few weeks ago im finally someone with what most people would call medium length hair. No one here would probably say that. Im loving the feeling up my hair tpuching my back. i need to learn to make more.upsos and i nees to put it i
up for protection.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
They all look great to me, Arctic! :) I keep trying to do braids but my layers makes it hard, can't wait till my hair is like...superlong..
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm so excited to measure my hair at the end of the week! I'm really hoping it will be at APL. Last month it was brushing it, so there is a good chance I'll get to call it.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
How exciting, butterflybutton :) I wish I was that close too.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I must be a very confused person, I took a new length shot today (yes, I know, I broke my own promise) and measured what is left to apl. My hair does not look that much longer compared to the last length photo I shared in this thread on Feb 2nd, and in a post just one page back I said I measured 4-4,5 cm left ... but it seems like it's only about 3 cm left now (unstretched). I feel silly, to say the least.

Don't feel silly *hug* so in almost four weeks you grew between 1-1 1/2 cm? That sounds about right, so you should be APL in two to three months then. That's not too far away :)

I feel silly because I measure and get different results :p My hair seems to grow about 1,5 cm every month (judging from how my bangs have grown), so if it is 3 cm left (maybe I measured weirdly again, what do I know) it should take about 2 months more. I think I will try my best to stay away from measuring till it is longer for sure... maybe I should make a promise like: "no measuring or looking at the length till my cats birthday"... Yeah, that sounds good
