I hear ya. I never thought I'd have this many toys before I'm even apl.

Now I feel like a looser for not having any!!! I haven't really attempted to put my hair up in any way.

I tried french braids a couple of times a while back with disastrous results. :o

I have tons of hair sticks - too many, in fact, and I'm quickly outgrowing the acrylic PM sticks I just got off the swap board :(
If you'd like, since it won't be long until I can't use em, I'll gladly send them your way when I can't use them anymore.

Double pointed knitting needles. They come in packs. Curl one into a U shape, you have a basic fork.

Then use the others as sticks or make more forks.

I had forks, sticks and clips at jaw length. Just saying.

I have all my toys left from when I was at hip, and yet I continue to buy/make more. It can definitely be an addiction.

You're growing out layers which makes it all take longer. I had a one length bob so I could probably do things sooner. First I used claw clips for a tails up (peacock twist). Then flexi 8 clips for that. Then I started with the wood forks. Plenty of people can't/don't do updos until bsl. That's one of the benefits of thinner hair.

By the way dutch braids hold better than french for me at least.
