Hmm, I’ve done the test and I think I’m 1c just like you said, Bat. It’s definitely not completely straight as I have previously thought. What do others think?
The first looks 1b but the second looks 1c so you could use 1b/1c but that's my opinion

We have similar hair, LilacOrchid. I've been classifying mine as 1b but sometimes it goes to 1c and very occasionally even 2a, but it used to be 2a consistently in high school.
Today was wash day, and I decided before I even got in the shower that I was going to do braid waves. Surprisingly though, I ended up getting some natural waves!!!
So I got my wife to snap a pic before I braided. I went with double dutch braids this time to see how well they'd hold since the last time I did them they shredded a lot pretty fast.

Also, I've been considering doing a deposit-only dye... I've been feeling really insecure about my hair. I feel like it's extremely boring.
I've been so set on keeping my hair virgin but then I started wondering "for who?" If dying my hair would make me happier with it, why not?
These are the colors I'm considering: Sunset Orange, Wrath, or Poison. The "Light Brown" swatch is pretty accurate to my hair from my experience with their Aquamarine.

If you want to twist things up a bit that's allright but they look far from boring. They are full of lovely caramel-like hues.
Out of the three dyes, I like Sunset Orange the most though :D

If you decide to go with it, I think Sunset Orange would look really good on you :)

That looks 1c to me. :) I think your hair may end up looking a little more wavy if it was layered.

The dutch braids look great! :D I like the Wrath colour, and think it would show up well on your hair colour. I am a stickler for dark reds though. :lol:

Oxalis, your hair is growing so fast! I was away for a few months and now it's moments from APL. Congratulations, you are obviously looking after it well.

I would say 1c. Now the next question... will you try and maintain or develop your waves further? With some care the curl pattern might transition into the 2s.

Thanks all! :flower: I like all of those colors, so I'll just see what they have in stock at the local Hot Topic.
I know they carry Arctic Fox but there's no way to know what exactly they'll have in stock the day I go.
I just hope they have one of those three!
Really want to do a warm color in case I end up with any permanent staining.

I’m also thinking my hair could transform with proper care, since I have curlies (3) in my family, and my mom and grandma are 2s. I could possibly be 2 as well, maybe 2a.
I’ll try to eliminate the damaging habits, and as it turns out, I have been using the worst possible shampoo for the health of my hair. This is going to be a ride, I don’t even know where to start. :neutral:
0xalis Oh, I totally understand. I’ve been escaping from my natural hair for YEARS, since I thought any other color would be more interesting. If you decide on dyeing it, I’m voting for Sunset Orange. :o

I like Wrath the best, pinky reds on light brown look really pretty
