I had a massive shed and lost 2/3 of my hair - I went from gorgeous long locks to a braid barely as big around as my pinkie finger. I was so sad, and unhappy with it, so I cut my hair off and was honestly relieved for it. I've kept it short while my hair rethickened and grew back in, and I'm growing again now.
I think I like about waist length best, though tailbone length was pretty nice too. I liked being able to do some really fun updos, but mostly I wore nautilus buns and hair forks!

That's clever! I should also do that. 2/3 of my wardrobe is striped, so I don't really know why I haven't done so before..

I'm aiming for waist length! Maybe I'll extend that when I get there, but it's really hard to imagine how I'll look with long hair when I've really never had it.. I think waist is realistic for now. I'm so sorry that you lost your hair! Was there any reason, or did it just happen?

How do you guys wear your hair at night?

I just wear mine down.
I tried a sleep bonnet a couple times but it would just fall off.

Uh yes, smart trick with the striped t-shirt!

I recently started wrapping it in a satin scarf. That falls of during the night though, but I still feel it makes a difference. My hair is less knotted when I wake up :-)

I feel ya! At this length, I don't really have issues with knots in the morning if I don't wear protective styles, but I'm doing it anyway. Either in double french/dutch braids, in a crown braid, or twisting my hair into two twisted pigtails that I fix to my head using bobby pins. Don't know if it's called anything special, and don't know how to describe it best. I do a middle parting, take two small sections from the front on one side, twist them, take more hair, twist. I do this all the way down until I have a grab of all the hair on one side, and then I twist that into a mini bun. It makes for really nice waves in the morning, and it's not so bad sleeping in if you do the buns on the side of your head :)

That sounds cool, I will try that!
