I'm a newbie here. My hair is shoulder length when the curls are behaving. Of course, it can be longer or shorter depending on what the mood of my curly hair is. I'd be at APL already, in fact, a month ago I was, but I had a tantrum and chopped it all off. That's the story of my short hair, truthfully.
I figured out that using different products on my hair makes it quite a bit easier to manage, so I'm in the transition phase and have sworn I won't cut my hair until I'm sure that it won't stay manageable. So my hair has two directions it's going atm. If it stays manageable, it'll go to APL and past. If it goes back to the frizzy, obnoxious mess that it was a couple days it's going short and staying that way forever. Personally, I'd rather go long, but I won't tolerate long hair that won't allow itself to be collected into an updo.
So, nice you meet you all and your hair...
I've reached this annoying point where I can't distinguish if my hair is APL or just above it. If it isn't there, it definitely is close.

Slight braidwaves, was SL in February, trimmed approx 1-1.5 inches since then and who hates the bathroom light and stupid roots making my hair look dirtier than it is? I do! :p
I still can't do half the style you girls can do...I'm very close to APL and can't even do a cinnabun since my hair is so thick! >_<
Thank you for the video Kathie. I have bookmarked it. I'd like to see videos of your other updos, because I like them all and I'm struggling with my hair right now. Only if you feel like it, no pressure. :D
My updo options are pretty limited too ... but my hair is close to shoulder length so it's probably a lack of length rather than too much thickness.
Peacock twist and gibson tuck are doable and quick ... I usually wear a peacock twist because it's the more professional-looking option of those two.
With difficulty: french twist
Braided updos are also possible but aren't very quick, so I end up not doing them for work.
Thank you jaine and kathie. this encourages me to learn more updos :)
I like the peacock twist in your video, kathie ... it looks so big and shiny!!
