Earlier this week I treated myself to a cheap wooden hair fork on eBay. Today it arrived! And it works!

It's not quite as secure as my knitting needle U pins, but I think I just need to have a bit more practice. But anyway, FORK!!!

Thank you!
Ooooh I love that fork! It lends an air of forest-fairyness to you.

:blossom: Me too! And thank you! I'm so glad I bought it. I'm still working out how to position it so it's secure while I'm walking, but it's definitely secure enough for sitting down!

Buns looking great, Corvana and Fred. Beat my puny wee buns hands down.

Makes two of us, everyone on this thread seems to have such big buns and thick braids, I was starting to get a wee bit self-conscious.
_fred_, I love that fork, I have a weakness for natural motifs when it comes to accessories. And it's a great way to make something special out of the most simple hair do.

I know, hard not to feel inferior sometimes. But there's lots of lovely fine hair round the forum too :)

Oh, I've never tried a hair fork before, but I love the way it looks! I might have to try it. Did you make the knitting needle fork yourself, or is it something you bought?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Fred, Corvana, I love your buns! And fred, that fork is perfectly whimsical!
My buns are deceptively big because they are mostly half-exploded twists at the moment. I need another inch I think, to have a full coil that I can tuck the ends under the base. My ends won't tuck under in the center yet. I have to coil my buns the seashell method because my hair is too short to tuck under the outside edge of the first coil, yet (as with a cinnabun). All of these buns were wrapped in the same manner, yet none of them look the same.
