Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thanks everyone! I'm already feeling loads better (finally), and I'm hoping that I'm on the mend! My kidlet seems to be right behind me, as well. Still a little icky, but mostly better!

I had long waist length hair (natural) before all this
It just gets me down longing for it to grow :(
That absolutely could be the problem. Hair and nails are a bit superfluous when it comes to stuff your body makes. If you're not getting enough nutrients for everything else that's actually important, you're not gonna have a lot of growth in the areas of "unimportance".

I agree with Corvana, diet makes a big difference when it comes to hair growth and the quality of the new grown hair. If you haven't been eating right for a year, that's long enough to lead to deficiency in vitamins and minerals. The safest way to go about it would be to see a doctor and consider getting some blood tests done to know exactly what you're dealing with. Keep in mind that these deficiencies take a while to get resolved, so you'll have to be patient about it.

Hello everyone! I'm so happy to be here with you again! Estrid, congratulations:hifive: Corvana, I'm really glad that your flu is going away:magic: And I've got a mini milestone to share. Lately I've been wearing a ponytail or sort of a pony-bun every single day, and now I've just noticed this:

Looks like it's already at CBL to me:happydance: (or maybe I should wait a bit more?...) Sorry for my not so clean hair, though...
ETA: I've brushed it properly and it looks solidly CBL, so hooray! :)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!

Dutch braid, my favorite braid, it holds so much better than French or rope on my hair.

I'm sorry I just can't stop stalking your hair, so thick and shiny! :D. The braid looks beautiful!

Well thank you haha, I get frustrated with the thickness sometimes.

Better picture with actual light. I think the vinegar rinse I did yesterday really worked, hair feels nice and looks shiny in my braid. Sorry for the spam guys!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hi, everyone! :waving:
I'm joining this thred after growing out a chin-legnth bob to shoulder legnth over the past 8 months or so. I'm happy to hit this mini-milstone and eager to learn what protective styles are possible at this point. I've had long hair before (waist legnth with layers) but that was years ago, and I've forgotten a lot of my old tricks :p At this point I can do a fench braid and a bun with the help of a donut-thing.
I WCC every other day, and use Shea Moisture products, Nightblooming's Panacea, and/or some coney serum on the legnth. I haven't touched a hot styling appliance in a year, detangle with a seamless comb, and sleep on a satin pillowcase (thanks, LHC!)
I hope to get to APL by the end of 2018, but in the meantime I'm just greateful to be out of the neck-legnth phase.
Looking forward to growing with you.
