Congrats, Elfa!
I'm at a point where I have no idea what length my hair is? Some days it looks and feels solidly APL, but then others is seems 2" or so off? It's 5 weeks since my last length shot tomorrow so I might blow dry it as straight as possible and see what it looks like then. I just don't want to call it and then have it take forever to get to BSL because I'm not actually APL...
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Congratulations Elfa.
I've just lost half an inch having a trim. My hairdresser straightened it so it's still touching shoulder length but once its washed and air dried it'll be above shoulder length due to the wave. It also looks like I'll be staying this length for a while as my hairdresser recommended maintaining the length it is at the moment and allow the regrowth a chance to get to the same length otherwise my hair will just look stragglier and stragglier as it grows. I lost 50% of my hair last year as a delayed reaction to having dengue fever, and we weren't sure if it was going to be growing back. Luckily it looks and feels thicker than it was before I got ill which I'm happy for as I've got thin hair.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Here are some progress pics (5 weeks apart). Sorry for the inconsistencies in the pics. I had about 0.5" off in a trim this month so with that taken into consideration I'm kinda happy... just wish it was more/quicker!

And for fun, here is what my hair used to be like about a 1 year/ 18 months before I cut it all off! Hoping to get back to this and beyond.

I never did highlights in my hair, I guess the weird roots are from summers gone by?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Apologies, I messed up the date on the second comparison photo. I took that on the 16th of April (today) not the 4th!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hi Tawny, I think you are making good progress, especially considering you just had a trim. I love your hair color. Best of luck.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thanks, Emptyque! Happy growing!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hi all hope you don't mind if I join in. Sorry this pic is so big but I can't work out how to make it smaller. Have been growing my hair for over a yr and my first mini goal is APL and my hair is sure taking its time :)https://i.imgur.com/NrMc3LB.jpg
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Hi everyone! This is where I belong right now. I'm currently at CBL. I can't wait to reach APL! I miss being able to braid my hair.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Welcome Tawny1992, TheJourney and Joyful Mystery, hapy growing ladies.
My hair seems to have slowed this month the measuring tape shows the growth but my pic doesn't look any different than last month to me. But I do notice a difference in my ability to make a bun that holds...as in I can make a bun that holds all day with a stick. Even fat sticks that couldn't hold it a couple weeks ago, so it must be changing more than I see.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I can't do much with my hair at this length. I usually put it in a ponytail using hair friendly ties, with or without some sort of accent braid. I'm looking forward to being able to use my hair forks again.
