Of course! :D

Theodora, you have written a great hair timeline, and the pics are excellent (love the dreads pick; it looks as if you are on vacation). I myself have always wondered what exactly "shoulder length" is--is it just touching the tops of the shoulders or does it have to be right on top of them?
Your current cut looks great--I know it can be hard to make such a change, but congratulations on it.
I plan to resch APL by Decembe of this year. Since I am relaxing my hair I hope to retain a lot more length. when my hair was curly it broke a lot due to single strand knots.
I am guessing the longest strands may get there as early as March, but I may not be solid APL until several months after that. That is assuming I don't trim my hair in 2013, which is an open question.
It has been about 3 years since my hair was longer than APL.
I think i'll be at apl by jan/feb. Im excited to make it to my first milestone on here! i'm really excited for bsl cause my hair hasnt been longer than that since i was probably 12 and im 26 now.
i only measure when wet cause my hair shrinks up from being wavy. i hope thats not cheating!
ETA: Ah, Tisiloves, your hair is thicker than mine so that's likely your issue. What about sectioning? Leave out a section of your hair, then add it back in to the formed bun by wrapping the left out section(s) around the stem of the bun towards the end of your effort.
It usually takes me about four tries to keep it from exploding and stay. As I am twisting I kind of pull my arms apart to stretch the loop farther away. I might also hold the ends closer to the middle of the twist, farther away from my scalp (hope that makes sense). As I try, I vary the number of fingers in the loop, two or so seems to work for me. Then after I expand the loop enough, I go for stuffing it down over the stem, and believe me, it's a tight fit, I have to work it with my fingers. But I love the result!

Managed to smoosh something that almost looks right with sectioning, I think I might have to wait a month or two for it to be solid. Oh well, my Spidermom bun is staying really well for me at the moment. Isn't odd how even 1/2 an inch makes all the difference in buns?
Thanks a lot! I was indeed on holiday in LA for my honeymoon (just for a few days on my way to Hawaii). Dreads were definitely really convenient while travelling, aside from the issue with salt water which did me in!
I'm not sure what shoulder length is exactly, and how it compares with "upper body length" (is that after shoulder but before APL? After nape but before shoulder?)
It's definitely weird having shorter hair and all my hair toys are now sitting unused. I tried to do a sort of French twist with my large Ficcare and it was awful.
I'm impressed by Wildcat's bunning skills! I'm not expecting to do anything remotely pleasing aesthetically until I hit APL.
Your hair looks great Theodora, really healthy, though I do love your other pics too! It's definitely SL btw :)
Oh yay thanks! I'm glad I belong here with you guys :cheese:.
Healthy hair is definitely very enjoyable, I'm particularly enjoying the feeling of being able to run my fingers through my hair, which was impossible because of velcro ends before. I also enjoy how little maintenance it is compared to how much time I was spending on it before ( 30 mn-1 hour before bed for untangling and plaiting). And I now feel brave enough to try WO as it should be easier without all the fragile fussy dry lengths.
Out of curiosity, what are people's washing methods on this thread?
