I'm determined to hang on until at least armpit length though!
You can do it :cheer:
Get a few pretty clippies and headbands/scarves, they really help the awkward stage fly by.
ETA: half ups, accent braids, and pigtails are also your friends.:flower:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm sorry for going back to a previous topic, but because I have difficulties rolling my hair into a sockbun at this length, I do it the 'classic' way, which is similar to when you use a hair doughnut.
You put your hair in a ponytail, pull it through the center of the sock, and let the sock rest at the base. Than you fan out the hair until the sock is completely covered. Secure the hair with a clear elastic. You'll still have your ends fanning out in all directions. If your hair is long, you need to wrap/braid them, but at our length you can usually just direct them around the bun and secure them with some pins.
I've been waiting three days to be able to post this :D

Can you link it so we can see it? I love getting excited about shopping! (And I find out about new shops I didn't know about before)

Flexi-8s are great for this length:

Sometimes I forget to use them. They hold really secure!
(Oh my, and isn't that one in a bit crooked!)

What size flexi-8 is that? And is it secure?
I use a barette right now to do something similar, but it snags my hair.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
It's a medium. Hair thickness, texture, and length comes into consideration with these. It is completely secure. Doesn't snag for me at all.

I find it so hard to pick the right one! I tend to underestimate my tickness. Glad to know they don't snag, though. Yours is very pretty :)

How big is your pony? I use a xs for a twist. Are you sure you're a i/ii?

I have never measured. I use a small more for a pony and I have some xs I have used for half ups. I have some mediums for a twist. I can make a large work too but it's kinda big.
I have never measured my pony tail before. So I just did it. Not sure I did it right. 3 inches? That does not sound right. But I did it three times. What does that make me? This is me clarified but I brushed it out.
