Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
LadyFortuna - Yep, happens to me. A few pages back I posted some pics that someone described as "like your ends are trying to stay away from your shoulders" (I'm paraphrasing.)
I had a mini milestone this weekend. Wore my hair curly and still felt it brushing my shoulders all day.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Congratulations! Such a good feeling!
I basically forget I have hair most of the time. I put it up in a cinnabun as soon as I get up and it's held with either spin pins or small clips. Its so comfortable, I forget it's even there. I do the same thing out of the shower when I wash it too. I don't think it looks the greatest but I don't see many people these days, and when I do see them, I am usually wearing a hat because we have fierce sun still. I am looking forward to taking my October length pic soon.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
You are all so sweet- thank you for the congratulations and compliments!! :inlove:
I'll still be lurking about here to watch you all progress! :D :cheer:

YEP! For me, it seems that with length some of my wave is returning. Makes my hair seem shorter than APL on a lot of days though.
It still is ~approximate APL territory~ though so I had to call it when I did, or I wouldn't have called it until 2 inches past LOL!

Doesn't seem to happen here. Mine however seems like its getting way more volume, like the shape of a raindrop or something.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Congrats, 0xalis! Your hair is always an inspiration!

This most definitely happens to me, though since it’s been long enough to wear up, I have worn it up almost every day, so hardly anyone gets to see the flip! On the few occasions where I’ve wanted to wear it down, if I have enough time, I’ll put it into two French braids when it’s damp, and then the braid waves counteract the flippiness.

Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Okay I guess I’m not alone in my weird second floppy’s rage then! Good to know at least, thanks. And nice to see everyone making such good progress!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I got a nice bit of encouragement yesterday. I thought that I had about 4" to go until reaching APL, but my husband noted that I'm actually about 2" away! :cheese:
He had been complimenting me on my growth a lot lately, and it was bugging me because I couldn't see it (not that he's normally disingenuous, but I just couldn't see it!). Maybe this means that we need a 2nd set of eyes before judging our hair too harshly and getting discouraged!

Thats great news and not to far to go at all.
Yes, absolutely! What we see is a combination of our past experiences, what we expect, and reality. (I've been reading up a bit on predictive coding models in cognitive psychology for work ;)). Its strange to think our perceptions aren't 100% accurate.

It's weird not being in here anymore I keep checking back and remember I'm back in buzz town not shoulder+ city
