I'm still hopeful for the summer, but that hope is getting thinner as time goes on. Still, it's growing, and I've managed to hold off bleaching the roots since the end of last year. My regrowth's coming in blonde now there's enough of it to properly see, and not looking quite as awful as I'd imagined, but it's still not great. At least with the pink/purple ombre it doesn't look as bad as it could though, and I can still enjoy it.

I know you are growing out the pink purple but before it's gone wanted to say it looks lovely :D

Summer isn't that far away and once you're on the home straight it's much more motivating.

I the towel test did a few days ago, but it was disappointing! I was comparing it to January and being annoyed it hasn't grown much, but then I realised I took the January photo the day before I had about 3cm chopped off to tidy up the ends. I've decided to postpone my summer trim, that can wait until October.

I'm just growing out the bleach - for now at least, and only because I'm worried about keeping on putting bleach on my scalp. I managed to give myself a small chemical burn early last year, and it made me think twice about lightening all the way to the root. The pink/purple is here to stay, at least until I transition to reds again, but that's a long way off. I find my natural colour completely uninspiring, but I'm hoping it's pale enough that I can get a pretty bright shade without bleaching, though this might be pie in the sky thinking. Still haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do longer term, possibly get a balayage or ombre at a salon, or just go back to bleach baths, but I figure messing with colour will help distract me from obsessing about length!

I have decided to keep my hair Shoulder length and maintain till the end of 2018. I want to trim away as much chemical dye as possible, even out my layers and thicken up my hemline... So i'll stick around here for at least another year (or more)...

I was actually debating whether to do this too
I have a few inches of damaged hair on the top layer of hair
You can see the orange bits in my hair where I tried to dye over it a year ago to hide it and blend it in but it wouldn’t absorb dye it just went green and then now is faded to a weird orangey colour
I was thinking either chopping it off to shoulder /collarbone or maintaining at APL
