I've tried probably over 30 different conditioners in my life and none has ever worked for other than detangling, so I'm sure my hair needs something else. I mean, for many years, and still occasionally today, I leave out conditioner since it really doesn't do anything magical to me.
Oh, were we talking about oil rinses? I've done ROO before, with mineral oil though since that was what I had, it didn't do that much. I guess I could try putting it in and not rinsing it out. Not sure if I should go on with mineral oil or try the jojoba oil that I use for my face normally.
Uuuuuuuuuh maybe? LOL I get lost sometimes, and I was on my phone which made it worse  But I saw oil mentioned lol. I've used oil after my shower as well, but keep applying it unevenly. It's still nice then, though!
But yeah I totally understand that! I'm similar about stuff, sometimes. I've been looking around for a tangle teezer so I don't have to order it off the TT site and pay a bunch in shipping. I found them at a Sally Beauty here a little bit away from my house, so while it's a smidge more it's technically cheaper because there's no shipping.

Haha :p Well, I think I could try it again, but I should probably combine it with something else, maybe leave in conditioner? I am a bit wary of leaving things in my hair since my hair doesn't absorb things that well, mostly it just stays on top. But why not try!
I feel you about that tangle teezer, recently bought a new one and they're not cheap! Would not want any shipping added to that cost.
I like the fact that I can buy a sample of the jessicurl cleansing cream, makes it less scary to buy and try. I don't know how many bottles of shampoos and conditioners I've had that I didn't use since they didn't work, so yeah, great with a sample!

Oh yeah samples are great!
And I figure most things are worth a try, tbh. Unless your hair care routine is perfect for yourself, there's always room for improvement!

... and my hair care routine is far from perfect. ;)
I will try it out, hopefully it won't make my hair look bad, that would be unfortunate during an internship!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
So I tried Aussie 3MM Moist last night, but while my hair is very soft it doesn't feel like I did anything more than just leave my regular conditioner on a little longer than normal. My preferred DC would make my hair feel like silk for a good week, and I'd have few tangles and no roughness from forgoing my sleep cap at night.
It's nice, though, and I could easily use it as my second C in my WCC lol.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I just bought a whole trial set from jessicurl since it wasn't that much more than just buying a small size of the ones I wanted to try (went for a bit bigger than a sample size since I tend to need a lot of product to be satisfied), will be interesting to see how they work with my hair. Will also be the first time ever I try a deep conditioning treatment, so exciting :o
I think I've tried that one, Corvana, a few years ago. A lot of people seem to love it, but I didn't really notice any difference from a normal conditioner. Sounds like you had the same experience :p
Can't wait till I have these products to try out, maybe it is a bit excessive to try a shampoo, a conditioner, a solution to enhance whatever waves I got AND a styling portion to help with that definition...and I think that set included a spray as well. For someone like me, that has only ever used shampoo and conditioner, this sounds like a lot, but if it makes my hair look amazing I'm up for it!
Maybe the wave/curl definition products would work better if I had longer hair than I do now, but I'll give them a fair shot.

Ooooh new products are so exciting! And it's maybe a little excessive, but they could work out super well for you! Personally I try to change one thing at a time, but that's a new thing so I can't really act like I've done that always :rollin: And I still don't always do it! But I try to, so that I can see what does and doesn't work so I'm not potentially tossing a pile of stuff that would work because I tried them with something that doesn't.
Yeah it's not bad at all, but not really what I'd call a "deep conditioner". Now, my L'Oreal Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture... THAT'S a deep conditioner. My sig pic was taken after a good DC with that, and it was taken a couple days after I'd done it! Did I mention that I love that conditioner?

I can tell that you love it! :D And if it's that good, I understand that you do :o
I sure hope they'll work well, and even if one or two or even three products don't work, it's SIX of them!! One of them has to work, many others seem to love them. I don't have any product that I love dearly atm, but I will try them out one by one after trying them all together first (I don't think I will escape that initial 'try everything', way too curious). I do have other shampoos and conditioners to use with them so I can check.
I hope I like them all, many that use them seem to have quite a bit more wavier/curlier hair than me, but who knows, maybe this will make my waves even more wavy.
I should get them in some days, will update on when I've tried them out!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Ok so I promised myself I wouldn't cut during the school holidays and the kids go back to school tomorrow so I'm debating whether to trim a little or push it out a little longer . I hate to lose length but I have a lot of damaged hair too. Not sure if cutting it is worth it will cutting out damage really make it look better or will I massively regret it as I'll have to wait longer to reach apl .... decisions
Am I the only person suffering headaches if I wear my hair up. I used to wear it up when it was long occasionally and never got headaches but now it's like I just can't
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Estrid, trying new products is always exciting ... as long as your expectations aren't too high. I tend to come to everything expecting this to be my 'miracle' product, and then it's so disappointing when it isn't!

Last time I had long hair, I got headaches when I wore it up, but I always thought it was due to the weight located in one place on my head, and always having to do them so tight for them to stand any chance of staying in place. I haven't got enough length for any kind of updos yet, but I'm trying to plan ahead and practise my braiding skills. I'm thinking of things like crown braids and other braided updos that distribute the weight and stay in place easily. If you're getting headaches now, maybe it's because you're pulling it too tight?
