I think it'd definitely make a cool profile pic. :D
Estrid, I've been buying hair toys in advance, waiting for my hair to get long enough to use them, and I'm thinking of buying pretty things to ornament my hair, even though I don't usually go in for that. The most ornamental I get is whatever's holding my hair in place! I think growing out is a good time to experiment with new styles though, and who knows, we might like them... :blossom:
Thanks! I probably will, yeah! And then eventually make one for like year 1, year 2, etc so I can see how my bun grows!

If you'd like some greys, I'd gladly swap you a few of mine. When you look at our signature pics next to each other, yours is pretty much the colour I dye mine ... except my ends are very sun-bleached. I'm about 80-90% grey at the front, but still mostly natural colour at the back. Once I'm 100% grey all over, I think I'll do a 'colour fade' to gradually transition, so if it's long at the time, I'll end up with dark brown ends fading to white/silver at the roots.
Thanks!! It's honestly only holding with a scrunchie, which can catch and hold the ends enough. If I wanted a "proper" bun, I'd need maybe 2-3 inches more to get all of the ends all the way to my actual scalp again!
And I think my hair is lighter, still. It looks dark in a lot of indoor photos, but not all of them. It is a pretty deep brown, but it's less on the black side than it seems! If it were actually black I wouldn't miss my red so much, honestly. I dyed my hair black for almost a decade!

That's my dutch braid pic, and it's closer to my actual color when I look at my hair with my eyeballs and not through a lense of some sort! A little lighter, due to the light, but overall the same!

I wore my hair down to dry in it's completely curly state today, it seems like it's gotten a lot longer since the last time. I'm about 2-3 inches from APL so I'm hoping by the new year.
Heeeyy!! So close!! :joy:

I can see some lovely red tones in your hair, especially near the temples.
PS don't mind me lurking in this thread :)

Don't mind at all!
And thanks! I'm still debating henna to get back the super red glow I used to have in my early 20s and my teens. But I promised myself I'd wait a year, to see if I appreciate my new natural color as it is.

Thanks! I can imagine that it seems to grow slowly when trimming! Sometimes it's just great to not trim and see a lot of growth and then trim the damage off, if necessary. :) I've used shikakai to wash my hair in the past and it did seem to grow a lot faster, however it makes my hair a tone darker or so, and really want to keep my own color. So sad cause it really did seem to help!

(Sorry for the poor quality!)
Your hair looks wonderful, and the color is very becoming. I favor un-stretched milestones :)
