I received some things I bought on etsy and couldn't resist trying out the LI unicorn horn hair stick I got, I tried to do a "inverted cinnabun" (I can not remember if that's the correct name) and it worked in the first try! I really was not expecting it to stay up and feel secure at this length, and with only a hair stick! Maybe the design of the unicorn horn makes it better like that, I'm not sure but it's possible because it feels like I "screwed it in".
I think this might be a new go-to for now, looks almost like a big bun from the side as well, which I like :bluebiggr

Completely unrelated but your photo almost looks like a painting. I really thought for a second this was a close up of a painting.
The bun looks awesome on you.

That's great, with the french braids :o I understand what you mean with the pulling, I have a sensitive area on the top of my head that always manage to get sore when I wear my hair up for a long period of time, braids are a good alternative!

I looked around a little and found out that it's called a flipped cinnabun and not whatever I called it :p I see that there are a few youtube tutorials around on that one, but you basically make a cinnabun and then you take the bottom part of it and fold it over the top. I was not able to do a full cinnabun, that's why my ends are poking out from the top!

Oh, thank you!
I ended up really liking that photo, maybe because it looks a little like a painting (the gritty/blurryness probably adds to it).

Thank you so much Estrid, searching for flipped cinnabun I managed to find a video tutorial. It's easy to do, but I just couldn't tell from the picture. My ends were poking from the top too when I tried it, and it turned down much tighter than yours, but it's still a nice variation from the same updo's I was doing.

Yw! Mine did turn out pretty loose, but I think a tighter one would probably hold better. Might not look as big, but secure is good! And I agree, variation is good, I've been doing twists for months now, haha.

Joyful Mystery, I hope your speedy growth rate lasts!
Thinking of flippy ends, I seem to remember mine did that no matter the length. I always used to think that if I had those few inches of flip cut off that my hair would be so much neater. No, past self, that is not how a curl pattern works.
NightSister Thank you! :blossom:
