You can make it, I promise. Be strong! If you grow it and you don't like it longer, you can always cut it back, but if you cut it now you'll never know if you'll like it long!
I love that!
Somehow, the idea of wearing a hairdo for "weeks on end" never occurred to me until I started growing out my pixie. Then, I twisted back my bangs for MONTHS! LOL! Pin it up. Pretend it's fabulous. Repeat! :lala: In 6 months, it will be a different head of hair. Really!

My hair looks longer when it's dry, and seems to be past APL today?!! I'm meeting another TLHC member for lunch today--we meet 3 or 4 times a year and talk "hair"--and will ask her about it.

Awww congrats on being almost-APL! :) This is sound advice, thank you! I think it's best if I can ignore and protect it for the next few months. It's long enough to wear it up, so I will start doing this more often.
Thank you Emily and alimc as well! It's so nice to chat with folks that understand my hair woes! Haha.

Yup, that's pretty much it. You can convince yourself of just about anything if you keep repeating it over and over. LOL!

Thank you! And yes, benign neglect is one of the most efficient ways to grow hair if you can ignore it for long enough at a time. Just like it takes forever for the kettle to boil when you watch it, it takes forever for hair to grow when you're measuring and photographing it every day, but if you leave it alone for a bit, it feels more like a sudden jump in growth and is much more satisfying. :happydance:

I wonder if its a lack of weight?? It is quite frustrating! I'm nearly at APL and even now if I do pigtail braids the ends still want to flip up...
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I think I reached APL... I took some pictures today and it looks like I'm finally there :) also, I kind of 'passed' the towel test and I'm past APL in the front. will post pictures when I manage to take some nice ones ;)
