Are you cutting your hair yourself?
With good styling you will have gorgeous waves:D
I got a cut at a crappy, cheap place in October and she butchered me. I asked for a trim to shoulder length... It was chin length and layered. Sigh.

I have to take many pictures to get a decent hemline. I hear you about scraggly waves with some hair that gets long. That was exactly the case when I grew my hair out last time. This time I'm really focusing on wearing it up, oiling, and micro trimming starting around APL to try to not have that happen.
Good luck! I hope we can both maintain some thickness. I'm taking viviscal and do NOT plan on pregnancy or stopping or starting any hormonal birth control so should be able to maintain a normal shed schedule. Fingers crossed.

They look so soft and cloudy. I personally see consistent tapering just in the last centimeter or two... I think it doesn't look bad at all.
To be fair, in order to get rid of my layers, I sacrificed a lot of growth. I think I snipped off almost half of my yearly growth. I think it was worth it, but the setback is undeniable.
Thanks! I think I'll need to trim layers out eventually too but so far giving up heat and elastics seems to have really prevented a lot of breakage/split ends so I'm holding steady with no cuts for now

Thanks :) I agree. My mom has similar hair and her hair care routine is literally shampoo, comb, ponytail to dry and it always looks amazing.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
It's only a bit more than a month since I called shoulder and my hair is already reaching my shoulderblades! I feel like this length will be a breeze for me to get through.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Very exciting, my hair is slow and some what shedding D: at least it is still growing
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!

Getting past shoulder was the hardest part for me, so I hear you. Once you get past that, it's so much easier to deal with your hair. :)

yeah it's pretty difficult, I have this part at the back of my head in the middle , that looks like it's breaking, shedding D: i'm a ball of anxiety
Edit: it’s not as bad as I thought it was still obvious to me
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Bat, your hair has clearly grown. You're making great progress.
SleepyTangles, you'll be leaving us soon!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I’m almost back to where I was before my trim so that’s exciting :3

It really seems like your hair grows so quickly. Thats great you are almost back to your pre trim length!
Today my milestone was making a cinnabun on top of my head and holding it with a scrunchie. I needed only one small clip to hold a few looser pieces at the back of my head. They weren't even falling down, just looser than the rest of my hair. Yay!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
That's great, ReadingRenee! Lately I've noticed my cinnabuns are looking much better. For now I use one small claw clip and two mini claws to hold mine.
