Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
The bangs I feel are less of a problem, because they at least look semi-cute when they do their thing. It's really those rediculous hairs from the tops of my ears that are giving me fits.
If I think about it, when I had my pixie they were always the shortest hairs on my head. Maybe they are getting revenge for being practically buzzed off for 3 years :ponder:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Can you do a ponytail? If yes, you could practice with a hair tie as basis for the sock bun. Tie the ponytail, then get the sock over it and try to spread your hair over the sock.
I love french tucks at the moment. I could really wear them every day, but I try not to ;)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I bought a donut at Wal-Mart that makes it look like I have a real bun, lol. But I haven't worn it in public yet. I guess I feel like people will know it isn't my real hair. Silly, I guess.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I can understand that; I have never found a donut that matches my natural color though.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Well donuts are very popular right now, and sold everywhere, and internet is bursting with sock bun tutorials, so I do think most girls and maybe even women do recognize a sock bun. The shape is very identifyable, and I know I can see right away when sock is used. But, since they are so popular, there is no shame at adding little extra in there :)

Yes, mine is black. Not the best match for me....but somehow I thought it would match better than brown, but now I'm not sure.
Arctic, you are right. I don't see any wrong in it ....just makes me feel self conscious, I guess.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I have one which has brown fake hair wrapped around it; it camouflages quite well. (The down side is, that I can't insert pins in/through it.)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
If I had only known I could have collected hair during the great shed. Thank goodness it didn't last any longer than it did.
That happened before finding LHC so I didn't know of such things.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I got a little brown one, but I really must make sure I cover it well or it will be recognized as sock.
But you're right, sock buns are popular and I'm not ashamed to wear it, too.

It sure does help me in making a fuller bun with my fine hair so that I can use a larger hair toy!
My length is short for the landmark because of my short torso.
Can't say I have done it often;it does feel a bit odd lol
