Thank you! Yours looks fantastic! Can I ask what you use for your hair care?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thanks KrissyKitty and Sunlightshines!
Lately I've been using Mineral Fusions curl shampoo and conditioner and some Hugo Naturals s&c. I do like to occasionally wash with sulfate shampoo, for a clarifying purpose.
I usually wash about twice a week I think, my hair doesn't get greasy fast.
Since my hair is healthy now after chopping the dyed hair off, I like being able to wash with whatever, borrowing my husband's shampoo or my sister's if I'm staying with her. Or my daughter's Hugo Naturals chamomile shampoo, it's pretty good
In addition to shampoo and conditioner I sometimes use a little oil, currently avocado, but it can be something else too, as a pre-wash, mixed with conditioner, or as a leave in. I use it to moisturize my face too. I'm a fan of simplicity :)
I actually want to learn to use shampoo bars..

You inspired me! THANK YOU. I've been persistently practicing crown braiding, and yesterday managed to get 3/4 around my head before the top fell out and my hands got mixed up! --I watched Lillith Moon on YouTube, I manage my hair in my fingers a little different than she does, but can make it work.-- I think I'll have it if I keep trying.
Torrelin posted in the forums (I think it's Torrelin Paige, who's videos I adore!) that it takes her about 20 tries to learn a new hairstyle, and longer to get it looking neat. That's reassuring, isn't it? She isn't blessed with some magical hairstyling gift, she has to work at it just like the rest of us! :)

That IS reassuring! I have been practicing a french braid every night before I go to bed. A few nights ago, I finally got one that stayed together! It looked absolutely terrible but I had to snap a photo as I was so happy to have finally done it! Even when I had my hair long before, I never braided it so this is completely new to me.
I do love the look of crown braids! I hope you will post a pic once you get the hang of it (which sounds like it will be soon!) I'll have to check out the Lilith Moon tutorial to see how she does it.

Joliebaby, thank you for the information! I'll check out the ingredients on the Hugo Naturals shampoo's and conditioners to see if they are something I can use. I haven't done much checking on soapnuts, but am really interested in trying soapwort. I'll have to see what kind of soapnuts are available in my area too! I like the idea of using all natural ingredients. This weekend I'm going to give catnip rinse a try!

I think even if it takes her 20 or more tries she is stipp pretty magical, and her hair is so drool worthy! I am going to try her nine strand braid one of these days maybe when I hit a solid APL. I also think but have not tried her Fili inspired do would work but I never have time or inclination althouh since I start school next week it may be time to actually care a little about how I look when I leave the house.
