Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Ooh, I had a lot of catching up to do!
Not much growth here, but I've been experimenting with updo's...
I have a wedding to go to next weekend, and I found a great vintage-style dress, so I wanted to do something with my hair.
Tried the victory rolls yesterday, with a roll in the back and a pretty flower in it. My husband convinced me to go out with my hair up like that, felt really self concious  Especially because I had the big sunglasses and flaming red lipstick to go with it, people were literaly staring at me... But I did get compliments too, even from my husband's hairdresser, who wanted me to explain how I did it:confused:
But I still chickened out for a birthday party of my colleague yesterday evening. Too many people I know, I feel like a total wimp :o Toned it down to a very simpel updo.
I've always been kind of a grey mouse and not used to people looking at me and certainly not for my style, so I feel strange now I've been moving into vintage territory.
I'm already terrified at the thought of that wedding next week, and I need to find out how the bride will be wearing her hair, because I don't want to upstage her...

People will always look at you for something. I woudn't worry about the wedding. Whilst what you plan to wear sounds lovely (although I would suggest a lipstick top coat if you're going to be eating in red lipstick), it doesn't sound massively flashy. Yes, upstaging the bride is bad form, the bride does have something of a duty to be fabulous enough that you don't do it accidently (unless it's a very informal wedding, but the bride who have that type tend to be less fussed).

This made me laugh for 2 reasons:
I bought a house with a pool a month ago and in all my fantasizing and planning before the big day, I decided that I too would try to get a flowery old-school swim cap eventually :)
Secondly, I've been here a month and my ratio of actual swimming to floating around lazily is probably 1:90. On the plus side, I float without getting my hair wet.

Hahaha. I've been making DF take me to our university's pool to "teach me to swim," mostly just because I like floating around in the sun :p

Love the sound of the updo! If you try it again, please do post a photo so we can admire :)

:D
The pool where I live is not conducive to swimming. That's too bad because I do like to swim laps. Then I could keep that as my exercise and end my love-hate relationship with running (maybe). Anyway, my pool (rather the apartment building's pool) is great for floating and relaxing. I stay on one end of the pool so I can have a shouting conversation with my husband who is usually in the hot tub about 4 feet away.

Ours would be extremely conducive to swimming laps, if a) I was physically capable of swimming a lap or two, and b) if the screaming children would get the &^*& out of the way. Yay, summer...
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I just did an early TTT. Nothing. Not suprising....my hair is SUPER slow to grow and I've given up dye so it's easy to see. The demarcation line after 2+ months of not dying hasn't moved. lol. In other words, I really have no roots.
Ah well! It will grow when it grows! I get to hang out here for another month. ;) I will post photos on Thursday. Maybe a few more days will get me some more length. lol!

Maybe you're just due a growth spurt?
