Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I had a moment of crisis due to hormones last year when I was pregnant and impulsively cut my hair to chin length, which I have been guilty of doing even before. If I hadn’t done it whenever I got the urge, my hair would probably also be waist long. Looks like we all have that in common. I mean, who else would be on the notorious shoulder thread. :D

You won't beat me! I'm in this thread for 4 years soon:thud:
Due to plenty of unnecessary trims and cuts.
But well I move on soon;)

I’ll probably be here for a year if I keep up with no trims

Yeah, the last time I was in a very stressful life situation and felt very stuck and out of control, so what do I do? The one thing I can control and cut like 18 inches off 🤪. Sigh, will I never learn? lol

I can relate for every time I've continued to cut my hair, trim back layers, over and over again even though I've wanted long hair for as long as I can remember. I would do it out of anxiety and impulsivity

We got this, this time around having a support net work helps! In a rare occurrence I have no urge to cut usually by now I’ve had the urge 100 times a day sure it’s not yet 2 months but still!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
From someone who is resistant to such temptations, you can do it! Try keeping your mind occupied with other things so your hair has all the time to grow long and luscious. I know it isn't easy (right Bat? 😘 ) but if it works you'll be perplexed with the length. 💪

Congratulations Bat! Your hair definitely is shoulder length and growing well.

I remember that pic. My hair definitely blurred my face so you haven't seen the face and hair together. Thanks for the compliment though. This is how it looks from the front (normally I wear glasses but idk, am too lazy to take another pic)
Whoa Iyashikei! Your hair has gotten so long since I last saw a pic of it! I like it! It looks really healthy and shiny. I don't like this length on myself either. Just keep growing!

I’ve hit shoulder length so I’m joining this thread. My hair is extremely damaged, but I’m ignoring it as I’m also doing a no trim 2021 challenge. I’ve had a botched dye job in February which I desperately colored over multiple times to get the shade closest to my natural. This is the current state. I’m looking forward to being with you all. :)
Congratulations and welcome LilacOrchid! Im in the no trim 2021 challenge as well

LilacOrchid:lol: I never thought about it that way before! You are so right. For me what seems to happen is once my hair gets long its like my whole mindset shifts and I don't like long hair anymore. I don't envy it on other people, or even admire it like I did before. I start admiring bobs and going back and looking at pictures of myself with shoulder length hair( I have a lot of them!) And even if I hold out for several months I always end up cutting, enjoying it for a few months and then... bam! Regret and regrowing. Sigh....
Speaking of regrowing I did a towel test yesterday on hair right before I washed it so its very straight. I have been wearing my hair up every day and when trying to pick out new glasses I took it down to see what it would look like with the glasses. I was pleasantly surprised by how much longer it seems to me. So I did a towel test. Im continuing to wear it up every day of July.
