I was just looking at how long my hair has gotten and realized it's actually getting quite close to APL, specially when stretched! It will still take half a year or so before it's fully APL (non-stretched) but still, so close already :) My goal is to get to APL by Christmas and I was kinda afraid that it would be impossible.. but it might just be very possible instead :D
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm a little past shoulder now and I've been liking French twists held with a comb, as well as ponytails/pigtails and just having it down. I feel like this length is kind of frumpy on me, but I cut bangs and that's been helping a lot.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
oktobergoud Your hair is looking lovely and long! Chelssix you'll get there! I wish bangs would help me but for the most part they are just those things that get in my way or stick straight up like a deranged porcupine.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
oktobergoud your hair is growing fast! You'll be at APL in no time!
chelssix I'm really liking your hair colour in your siggy! so gorgeous!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
SerinaDaith, my bangs either get pushed to the side or I blow dry/flat iron them. I don't think I'll likely ever grow them out, so damage is trimmed as it happens.
Thanks, AnnaB! I've been working on getting my hair to be shiny and pretty like that again. (It's an old pic.)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Mine scoff at the idea of being forced to compliance. They are finally back to mouth length. Another couple months and they will tuck in with most of my updos. I have no interest in fighting my hair enough to make it less crazed. Granted the lack of heat implements helps a lot or I'd be flat ironing for at least one of my soon to be one year pictures. No ability reduces temtation lol. If bangs work for you rock em! I wish they would work for me.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'll admit to the occasional heat styling (of all my hair. My bangs are heat styled usually every 1-2 days, the rest of it once a week at most). It doesn't seem to be hurting my hair (I moisturize the daylights out of it and usually leave it alone), and it DOES help make me like my length a lot more, but if I didn't have the tools to heat style, I'd totally just learn to live with it and probably eschew bangs. Eventually I'll be able to give up using heat on all but the bangs, but that just isn't happening today.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
All good no judgment here, my hair breaks and freys at the site of heat tools. I wish I could go for straight locks every so often.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I bought some Caruso rollers awhile back and have thought of trying them out again. They do use some heat of course, but I could easily touch the rollers without burning myself. I'm a little concerned about it darkening my henna though.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
That I do not know about. I can get curls with bobby pins if I really want them, and if I set them up in the morning I can rock a kind of Marilyn Monroe look for the day. Sponge curls look like a good option for sleeping on since they would be soft, or rag rolles for that matter, if you wanted to skip the heat, damp curls also always stay much longer for me.
