Epic fail, I either need a few more inches or much less slippery hair.

Well, crud. I am sorry.
That sounds... fun! I've actually never tried a crown braid :o I do lace braids along my bangs to get them out of my face if I must, but that's about it.
Kimi is shipping my canary wood fork on Monday! :D I'm so excited! Sadly I'm going out of town on Wednesday, so I won't get it until next Monday at the earliest.
I think I'm going to officially take my leave of this thread now :D I've been hanging out in the BSL thread for a couple days, and I'm definitely past APL now, so I think the time is nigh. :cheese: I would take a pic, but all I have is my phone camera, which, no joke, produces pictures about the size of a postage stamp. I'll definitely be popping in here every now and again to cheer you guys on! :cheer:
Thanks Bunnysaur, see you over there in a few months! Thanks again with your help on the LWB, I am using it all the time now.
Yikes, I've only just gotten to 16 inches now. I can feel my low boredom threshold kicking in and am experiencing a major urge to cut and colour...My hair is just sitting on my shoulders looking really thin and bleurgh.:(
I'm determined to hang on until at least armpit length though!
Does it help when you wear it up so you don't notice the bleurghness? Can you braid it?
Me too, but my hair is just way to short to even attempt it. However, I did manage to get my hair to stay up with a stick, so thanks Wildcat Diva! This isn't ready for going out in public, though.
I made a little cinnabun, then I stuck the stick through the big side, out the middle, over the ends, and flipped it to insert into the scalp hair. Woo hoo! :cheer:
Oops, I had to get up for a minute to get something and it fell out already. :o
Yes, this length is hard because there's no "hairstyle", don't want to style it with products and heat, and it's hard to stay up.
I compensated for this frustration by extensive retail therapy with my new discovery of hairtoys, and challenged myself to use them successfully, celebrating milestones when I can get something to stay and look good.
I don't recommend that approach for anyone else (the spending too much money part), but if you can come up with some cheap or swapped toys it might be fun. And if your kids actually like ramen noodles, you can shave a few bucks off the grocery budget to work with (I'm incorrigible! I know!)
I am hopelessly an enabler. But that's an accepted label around here.
I started with flexi-8s. They are a great start as pretty updos for shorter hair. Your hair won't fall out of those (assuming you don't get one that is too big).
