Thank you kiiruna! Does this mean that you measure it at the iliac crest?
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I measured and APL to BSL will be my largest milestone gap (6 inches) other than tailbone to classic and knee to ankle. But since I probably plan at staying at tailbone, I won't have to worry about those.

I've always defined it as hair reaching the bottom of your bum. So you would be able to sit on your own hair (though I wouldn't recommend it!) and I believe tailbone would be "hair just touching what you're sitting on."
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Thank you vpatt. Wow 5 inches and I thought some of my milestones were far apart. Good luck on your growth too!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Wow, i'm going to have to measure the distance between milestones when I get home now! I'm curious!

Ok, so tailbone may be where I would like to be......but I have joined the terminal thread, lol. I guess I can decide to stop if I find a length I reall like.
Vallena, I am from Tennessee, tho I am in Virginia now. I am from the eastern part of the state and I love visiting.

Does anybody use a wooden bristle brush instead of or in addition to a boars hair bristle brush? I heard that a wooden bristle brush is also effective in distributing hair oils, plus gives a nice scalp massage. I have been using one for sometime without knowing that, I just like the brush. I actually preferred it to of boars hair bristle brush, but wanted to get others opinions.

Hey all, still here, too. Happily past shoulder but not APL yet. Feeling frustrated by bangs that are mid-length, but determined not to cut a single strand of my hair for now since it is all healthy and seems to be growing. Pic to come later.

I do. I have a Widu brush with wooden bristles, and I absolutely adore it. I use it almost exclusively because I love how it feels.

My hair seemed to stall visually around 20 inches but when I measured it a few months later it had grown at least 2 inches. So, sometimes stalls precede big growth. At least for me it does.

Good luck on your growth!
Me to vpatt. Although I don't think I am super tall. about 5'9" . From shoulder to APL takes FOREVER. I am so happy to almost be there. This is the most grueling part of the hair growth journey for me.

I don't have a wooden bristle brush, just a boars bristle but it sounds nice. Is it better at penetrating all your hair? The boars bristle always seems to skate on top.
So, a few days ago I put my hair in a half up and I was excited. It looked so long to me! When I took it down I realized its because the top layer of my hair is only barely shoulder length! For some reason the shorter layers make my hair look shorter. Its a bummer that there is such a massive difference between my layers because I want one length hair but I definitely don't want to lose the length. Whatever I decide, Im not cutting back shorter than APL ever again so maybe I will wait until my shorter layers reach APL or maybe I will just start microtrimming eventually.

Yes it definitely does. I love mine! I find it also pulls out less hair and is better able to detangle with less fluffiness. I use my BBB to blow dry my bangs straight, but that's about it.
