Thanks! I'll try. My hair is too short right now to do much of anything to it, it's a bit past shoulder length, but it's really thick. I really want to learn how to do dutch braids and fishtail braids, once I have more length.

My favorite toys for tiny buns are Grahtoe Studios antler sticks, flexi 8 xs, a Baerreis fork (I think it's a little egypt style). And best of all for me is a larks hair squiggly (3 inches).

You can start to practice now and be really good when it's long enough! My hair isn't thick, but I could dutch/english braid it as soon as it was chin-length! (Like in my siggy)
So give it a try! :)

This is what my latest braid looked like (didn't go out like this though, was just practicing :P) and it's only shoulder length!

Thank you for the suggestions I will look at those. :o I still haven't bought any new toys maybe today is the day. I'd love a nice small grahtoe and new flexis.

I am no longer in this group anymore,on to bsl and waist!
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Argh, only 0.25" again this month, this is driving me crazy! I'm at 19.5" now, slowly and painfully creeping closer to APL. I don't know if it's breakage (my hair is still snapping) or genuinely slow growth.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I only grew .25" this month, too. What is the deal??
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I just measured and wow, it does say I am 21" it looks APL to me in real life, dunno about pics, or when I should claim it.

I've decided hat past shoulder is the length that makes me feel sufficiently girly. I've got just enough hair to fluf and primp it, and so it eases my ego. :D
Yesterday I was walking through the mall quickly trying get to a store before it closed. I realized the wind I was making made my hair fly up a little behind me and I got a huge smile on my face. I'm sure others thought I was just a happy person, but to me, it felt like I had finally earned my Cape of Awesome.

On a side note, I've been experimenting with daily scalp massages (while in the car on the commute home) over the past two weeks and doing weekly measurements. I normally grow at about .5 inch per month consistently over the past year, but my last three measurements done weekly were, 17.75, 18.00 and 18.50 today. I know at least one other person commented that scalp massages increased their growth, just thought I'd share this information since most of us are interested in *anything* that might increase our growth. If anyone else has any luck with this I'd be curious to know :) The only other things I've changed is my shampoo and conditioner (I don't think that's the contributing factor though).
Lately I've been getting an inch a month, but am going to start scalp massages tomorrow and wonder if I can get up to 1.5 inches.

I was playing volleyball and felt the ends of my ponytail touch the nape of my neck--I totally freaked out, but yay for long hair!
