Just posted this in the Monthly progress photo thread as well; here's where I am currently. It's hard for me to measure my hair length or growth rate right now but I'm hoping to get to APL by September 1st. :)
That's awesome and your hair color and shine is lovely!! Its nice to estimate when you expect to reach the next milestone because then one can just stop checking/obsessing each week (that's what I was doing for a while and had to stop myself lol).

This year will be the year  I actually suspect that I won't be so obsessive about length once I reach APL (wishful thinking maybe lol).

Looking good! It must feel nice to get rid of a bit more dye as well I assume. Happy growing!

I know what you mean. This is the longest slog for me. Shoulder to APL is a far distance.

I keep measuring my hair and trying to estimate when I might reach APL but it just leaves me frustrated and impatient lol. Trying my best to leave my hair up and forget it.
I have been leaving my hair up and forgetting it too. I have just been twisting it up in a claw clip every day and also been working on stretching out washes. With my hair up, its definitely made a difference. I also like washing it less because then I feel like I obsess about my hair less.

Last night I decided to take a photo of my wet hair while stretched and I was seriously surprised to see that it is longer than I thought! I'm excited to see I am past APL at least when I stretch my wet hair! Although when it dries it seriously shrinks all the way up to collar bone and I reaaalllyyy want to get to APL with curls fully dry. Shrinkage can be so discouraging at times!
I know shrinkage is discouraging but your hair is beautiful. My hair is normally much more wavy and I understand the shrinkage discouragement although my hair is not beautifully curly like yours.

I know its hard to measure at this length, just a little more and you will be able to measure it. Looks like you are at a great start.

Wow Stray, your hair is so pretty and it looks like you have so much of it. Glad you are happy with your trim, I think your hemline looks great.

LOL maybe. For me, I stop obsessing once I reach BSL. Of course then I forget all the work that went into growing it, don't care about length anymore, and then cut it back to jaw. Must stop doing that. :)
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I took a length pic for Feb 1st. Conveniently, today is wash day so my hair is pretty much completely straight. As you can see I also don't brush my hair anymore since its always up. :D
My phone has a pretty terrible camera and the lighting was not great so not the best pic. My hair color is not accurate. Current routine is washing once a week, oiling it and putting a little mousse in it out of the shower and then leaving it alone and put up for the rest of the week. It seems to be working so far.
It really does look longer when its straight. Also the ends are flippy from being up in a peacock twist all day everyday. :)

Shrinkage means healthy hair. I just heard that on a YT video (green beauty channel). :flower:
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
BerrySara Thank you! Your texture is so pretty!!
ReadingRenee It's true. Growth it's more noticeable when hair is short-er.

Readingrenee-looking good yourself! Will you call APL stretched?
And yes, i am happy i got rid of more dyed ends.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
Okay, these photos are pretty terrible: no good place to take pictures in this house, the phone I'm using is beyond ancient and the lighting in our bathroom is just strange and makes my hair color even stranger. And the first photo was taken in my mother's bathroom lol. Just FYI, these are all direct links so you won't be directed to imgur.

I tried a copper color mask after the first picture and haven't used silver conditioner in ages, so my highlights are not bright anymore. I think I'll just let the color wear off on its own.
