Grounded flax seeds for all my health.
Thank you dear, but your food always sounds great and varied as well! Oh, and hubby ended up eating most of that homemade chocolate, and I'm certain he did not need it for his hair, seeing as he doesn't have any :D
Today I had leftover homemade potato salad (no mayo) for breakfast, along with scrambled eggs and cheese :cheese:
For lunch I'm making my favorite pink pasta (beets-based sauce) with white beans.
And dessert is homemade carrot cake.
I also take cod liver oil and hair vitamin (biotin, selenium and zinc) daily for hair.
Drinking water
Well, because I'm in training for Christmas eating, whenever I have a chicken or ham sandwich I put cranberry jelly on it. It's a bit addictive. :o
Pizza , Pepsi, garlic bread, carbonara pasta and coffee is basically my diet this week
I'm very low on money this week because it was rent month so can't get anything decent
Tons of carrots! There are retinol and vitamin A and everything good in them.
Eggs, spinach, and turkey sausage. I've been increasing my sources of good quality protein in the hopes that both my overall health will improve as well as that of my hair.
I'm still enjoying having Kelp's recipe for high protein pancakes!
Recipe (just in case anyone missed it)- A mashed banana, big pinch of cinnamon and two eggs, beaten together and cooked like regular pancakes in a non-stick pan. Makes about three pancakes.
I think this recipe and the advice to "Squish conditioner into your hair" are the greatest handy hints I have picked up from this site so far. Embarassingly enough! :o
8 cps of water and counting. Burrito w avocado, almond milk, mandarin oranges.
pineapple, water, salmon
There is no vitamin A in carrots. There are beta-carotenes, a precursor to vitamin A, but most people have diminished ability to make any significant amount of retinol in their bodies from those precursors. The best source of vitamin A are liver, fish and full-fat pasture-raised dairy.
Oh cool recipe. I love banana pancakes. I tend to add milk and whey protein into the mixture as well. And sometimes ground flax or chia seeds so they stick together better.
I have had beef liver today, some veggies and potatoes with it. And carrot cake with figs and cream cheese. And a giant bowl of pudding made from fresh full-fat milk, with bananas. Yes, I am absolutely a little piggy when it comes to food.
A bit of salmon, pumpkin seeds, cod liver oil.
Well, I am just having my regular cheese, Marmite and lettuce sandwich and kiwifruit juice for lunch, I will have my regular pot of yogurt and cup of tea for afternoon tea, and a big salad and ham sandwich for dinner. Because today is Christmas Eve.
:xmas: Tomorrow, on Christmas Day, I will go into a frenzy of piggyness that will be awe inspiring! Yes, I can see here already those Lindt Lindor chocolates in Irish Cream flavour, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Christmas fruit mince tarts, Christmas cake with marzipan, plus all the lunch and dinner things; ham, tomatoes, Swiss cheese, lettuce, and I will make Deviled Eggs on the day. Yep, yep, yep... I am going to be immobilised by gluttony. Happy times! :toast:
corn chips and dip my diet is terrible I know, next year I really should eat better
Almonds, blueberries, almond milk, water, cheese
Tuna, cod liver, leftover potato salad. Chickpeas scramble, veggies, roquefort cheese. Chocolate cheesecake.

Happy holidays friends, finally able to log in after an age (though still no luck on my laptop, only mobile)!
Today we had espresso and crepes for breakfast, cucumber/tomato/mint salad with chicken & veggies at noon, and green chile enchiladas and cabbage salad for dinner. Candied pecans & pecan fudge for sweet snackies.
Egg scramble with bananas, honey and cottage cheese. Kefir smoothie again. Sauerkraut soup with potatoes, sausage, plums and sour cream.
delicious Carbonara I just finished it, next year I want to try and become a bit more healthier , I'm going to very loosely follow a paleo diet, I say loosely because I don't eat vegetables unless it's a salad
Liverwurst. Plenty of vitamin A and other nutrients.
Fish oil, multivitamin, supplements
Well, embarrassingly enough, I realized I am not eating anywhere near enough of the recommended protein per day. Now I can see why some of you guys use protein powder. But I am cheap, and I am not paying extra for fanceh supplements. And most of the meats I like seem to have too much salt in them.
In our supermarket we have bits of chicken threaded on wooden sticks and pressure cooked in the packet. I shall buy this chicken on sticks when it is at a reduced price. I shall eat these. And more eggs, eggs are good. :o
Not all protein powders are expensive. I am sure there will be a great number of brands available where you live, but should you want one, you absolutely do not need anything fancy. Personally I stick with our local brand and buy only pure whey-powder, no artificial flavors in it and it is the cheapest option on the market. Does the job and I only use it when absolutely needed - when I exercise/hike so much that I know that my regular diet does not cover my protein need. Eggs are good too, so is cheese :cheese: Lidl here has stocked a new product - a 200g tub of cottage cheese, natural, no flavors or additives and it packs 24g protein in a serving. It is delicious and makes me full like an entire meal. Great for snacking too.
Today, for my hair, I had fruits, raw milk, bone broth, veggies, beans and cheddar. I think cheddar might be my favorite cheese. Oh and a carrot pie with nuts and figs. Figs are very healthy too.
Protein in general can be so expensive. I recently upped my protein intake a lot (I also wasn't eating enough and was feeling sort of frail, plus I'm trying to grow my hair). Now I eat a lot more protein but my goal is to keep it cost effective -- I have found that my go tos are ground beef, chicken breast, egg whites (which are a cheaper way for me to get lots of protein but they keep the cholesterol down), greek yogurt, and fish. I do use a protein powder that costs something like $30 USD and lasts a month. I pretty much have each of those things every day, and then just fruits and veggies to round it out. It's a little boring, but it keeps the costs down as much as possible. And my hair is really growing a lot, so I feel like it's worth it to me!
Green smoothie w almond milk, spinach, pumpkin seeds, & sweet potato.
Thanks, Nefcerka and Abacus, for those ideas regarding getting enough protein. Egg whites is a good one. And the cottage cheese. I've got a habit of picking foods with either too much saturated fat or too much added salt. :o
Flax and chia seeds.
Stroganoff stew with beef. Sausages.
I was lucky enough to get a 200g packet of smoked salmon today that was reduced for a quick sale because it expires tomorrow. So I will just have to eat it all now! Yum! :o
Chicken, navy beans, onions, water, apples, oranges, almonds, pumpkin seeds
fruit, veggies, cheese, cottage cheese, chickpea stew
egg, milk, bread, pineapple, grapes, orange, pecans, onions, brown rice, peanut butter, avocado.
Beans and vegetables
Yesterday was salmon soup, soft-boiled eggs, and Turkish yoghurt with heavy cream, lingonberries, a raw egg, and organic honey.
Today, I will have the soup leftovers, and I already had some boiled wiener sausages.
Marmite, cheese and lettuce sandwich. Feijoa Greek yogurt.
Big salad of shredded cabbage, carrot, chopped cucumber and tomatoes, with lots of chopped basil and mint, and yogurt dressing. Can of tuna with tomato and onion. Chicken. Bowl of black cherries. Mmmmmm, cherries! :o
