Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Sandwich: Cheese, Marmite, lettuce, tomato, radish sprouts.
I think I've just reached the point where it has ceased to be a 'sandwich' and become a salad with some bread .

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
6 chocolate cookies, bag of cornchips and half a can of yellow fin tuna with a little cheese melted on top of the tuna 1 can of pepsi max and 2 coffees
-
Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Oh, Bat. If only the fast food could make hair grow fast:D
I had spaghetti with fried bacon and soya beans, sandwich with egg and cheese... and I will see what comes next.

BAT! Thanks a lot, I was just sitting here online at 2:30am and I read about your corn chips, tuna and melted cheese feast.
I've got all that stuff in my pantry, and now I'm craving it badly. You! :yumm:

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Banana pancakes! For those who haven't had it, you make a batter with a mashed banana, two eggs, bit of cinnamon, then pan fry like a normal pancake and add greek yogurt as a topping. So good!
My partner got put on a medical diet for his heart that I'm able to follow with modifications, so I've been treated to all of of the high-protein dishes he's been making and I think my hair will thank me. I don't think I get enough protein otherwise.
I've also been taking supplements like B Complex and Fish Oil in solidarity, so I wonder how those will affect me.

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Pork steak. Soft-boiled eggs. Mini tomatoes. Skyr with heavy cream, an egg, blueberries, and organic honey.

Ooh, I am totally going to try making those banana pancakes today! This thread is starting to turn into a really good source of ideas. :o
Update: :hollie: These came out really delicious, thanks so much for the recipe, Kelp!

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Turkey sausage and white cheddar egg bites, protein bar, salad with roasted chicken, walnuts, and dried blueberries, chicken tikka with rice, and a handful of fresh blueberries. About 2L of water throughout the day, and two coffees. I need to take my vitamins, and then it will have been a pretty good day, nutrition-wise.
-
Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Salad: Cabbage, carrot, apple, baby beetroots, roast beef and smoky dressing.
Strawberry flavoured Greek yoghurt.
Loads of roasted mixed nuts. I might need to go back to buying individual serving sized bags of roast nuts, it seems I cannot be trusted with the bigger bags. :p
-
Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Kelp's protein Banana Pancakes (post #3005), again! Man, those things are good! :yumm:

For dinner I had smoked salmon on brown rice fried with onion and dill. Cabbage and beetroot salad. And strawberries with vanilla Greek yoghurt for dessert. :happydance:

For now, I'm still fasting today.

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Ooh, Ylva, I love skyr! I have the peach and cloudberry one from Icelandic Provisions for breakfast each day. Far tastier (and healthier) than Greek yogurt.

Health-wise, I actually prefer Greek or Turkish yoghurt for the higher fat content and lack of artificial sweeteners. When I eat skyr, I make sure to add animal fat into it. I'm not sure which brand of skyr I ate on Iceland, if it was that same brand or not, but our ones (Isey brand) unfortunately have artificial sweeteners in them, and not the better options either.
And speaking of which, I just had Turkish yoghurt with an egg, heavy cream, blueberries, and organic forest honey. :D Later today, I'll be having pork. It's currently in the oven and will be there for a good couple of hours!

Interesting. Your meal today sounds yummy!
My findings on skyr:
Ísey skyr is produced by MS Iceland Dairies and sold all over Scandinavia, Europe, and even Japan and Hong Kong. There is also another type of skyr produced in Iceland known as KEA skyr, which is less creamy and more firm, like the consistency of mozzarella cheese. The dairy that made KEA skyr merged with MS back in 2007, but since KEA was very popular, MS Dairies continues to make and sell it.
A couple of American entrepreneurs visited Iceland around the turn of the century and fell in love with skyr. They wanted to bring it to the US, so they formed a partnership with MS Dairies and created Icelandic Provisions in 2013. It was going to be sold at Whole Foods Market, an organic grocery chain here in the States. However, Whole Foods is very strict with what they sell: they don't allow artificial sweeteners, for example. Since the MS Dairies skyr recipe contained sweeteners, it didn't pass the test. MS had to create a new recipe using just sugar, and that skyr is the skyr sold by Icelandic Provisions.
There are some Icelanders in America who think Icelandic Provisions is horrid because they aren't used to the sugar instead of sweeteners. Others think it's fine, and a few are pining for a KEA-type skyr.

Hey, we have that all the way down here in NZ, about as far away from Iceland as you can get! And, yes, ours have the artificial sweeteners, too, which I thought was rather disappointing since their big advertising point is the nature and pureness in Iceland. At least we have the volcanoes in common with them! :o

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
The day started out well with oatmeal and cheese sandwiches and things...then by evening it went massively downhill ( :pumpkin: Trick or Treat), chocolate frogs, white chocolate frogs, Reese's peanut butter cups. You know how it is once you start. Yeah, I'm just about unconscious from gluttony. Good-night. :Star::Star::Star:

Now that would be a cool place to work at, for sure!
And in food news...I recovered from my :pumpkin: Trick or Treat chocolate overload and it's back to the salads, cheese, tuna, yoghurt etc today!

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Healthy greens and legumes.

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Haven’t eaten much yet today but I plan on having salami, veggie soup, popcorners chips and later I want to have peanut butter with a snack!!

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
So far I have had delicious millet porridge with dried apricots, pecans, cashews, honey and milk. So good because I make it at home and pile the apricots and nuts on, no skimpy little store bought fragments. :yumm:

Yep, but then again, most advertising is disappointing these days, lol! Or have I just become too cynical?

Re: What did you eat for your hair today?
Diverse sallad and green puree soup. Also because it makes me so well-being and awake.

Thank you dear :)
Today I didn't have time for breakfast, sadly, so I had to opt for a quick-fix, the whey protein shake. But the main meal was very nutritious and satisfying - homemade chili. And had some custard with banana for dessert.

My family made chili yesterday, too! Texas chili—no beans allowed.

Aw, I sort of count on beans to double the amount of chili, ground up beef costs about eleventy million dollars!
Today I had salad: White cabbage, red apple, carrot, baby beetroot, mint and dressing. A cheese, Marmite and lettuce sandwich.
A can of horrible Sweet Chili Tuna with rice crackers, which I felt was more like a punishment for getting fat rather than a meal I would ever want to eat again. Blech!
Yummy Raspberry Lemonade flavour Greek yoghurt.
