I don't love it when i eat too much, but a tablespoon at once is good :)

Is the food we eat actually beneficial to hair growth or quality ? Or is this just for fun mostly ?
Eggs! I try to eat eggs everyday. I have my own small flock, so they are usually fresh from the coop, and I know the hens get a wholesome diet with all the fresh bugs they want as I let them run on 1.5 acres.
I had cheese, grapes, and cantelope but then I just woke up (3rd shifter here, I work all night.) Later I will have eggs with some plain dry toast (12 grain!) after that, who knows, I don't eat so much anymore, too busy.
Breakfast: toast, 6 eggs, bunch of broccoli
Snack: protein shake
Lunch: ground beef (1/2 pound), more broccoli
Dinner: tiki masala, sauerkraut, jar of pickle juice, glass of OJ
For later I’ll have another protein shake with my daily vitamins, and a scoop of creatine
I eat a lot for sports
Your general health is often reflected in your hair... Food contains the vital nutrients we need to live a healthy life... and grow long hair. So all those products we use, like biotin rich conditioners and protein rich masks all effect hair that has already grown to a minimal extent but if you are eating foods rich in these things they will grow from the shaft as already healthy.
You need foods rich in protein (which hair is partially made of), omega 3 fatty acids, beta carotene, zinc (a lack of this can actually cause hair loss... if you need more of this in your diet, consider roasted unsalted pumpkin seeds as a snack instead of crisps, it'll get you up to speed...) as well as other vital nutrients that we always try to supplement after the fact.
Your hair is made up of whatever nutrients your body gives it to grow essentially, and it takes what it can get. If you want long, strong lucious hair (or so much as your genetics will allow since that makes up another large part of hair growth) then you'll eat foods that will distribute these essential vitamins and nutrients where the go... If you want frizzy, dull hair (or to depend on expensive products forever) then you can eat mcdonalds everyday and eat potato chips with every meal :)
Peanut buttter, beets, meat sauce, and took vitamin D. I eat peanut butter for my hair every single day.
I'm on a high fat diet, which supports healthy skin, nails, and hair.
And it's great for weight loss, too.
very nice, :) I'm trying to avoid diets insomuch as I need to lose weight... A few years back I destroyed my metabolism by over taking diet pills and starving myself and overexercizing... I lost 100+ lbs in 6-8 months (230 down to into the 130's) but my hair suffered quite a bit, started thinning and falling out and I was rather unhealthy. My growth now, apart from all of my ends are all healthy growth. Still need to lose weight though :/ I've cut out soda, energy drinks, fast food, ranch dressing and all snacks apart from a few here or there. I've incorporated some new veggies too (enoki mushroom, bok choi, lots of fruit) and a lot of water. What sort of foods do you eat in a day, if I can ask? I'm planning on trying tofu this weekend, pretty excited about that. Is it a high carp high fat diet, if I can ask (Like Free-lee the bananna girl or high carb hanna on youtube?)
Yep!
Unfortunately, in hindsight, I don't have many before pics. This is me at my absolute largest, to put it in perspective I'm just 5'6 and had a 46" waist. Men's 3x shirts.

This is as far as I had gotten in my previous attempts, still doughy and pear shaped but massively improved. Though it's from the middle of last year and that shirt is now massive on me, I still have it as my unlock screen for motivational reasons. Both legs in one...that might as well be a commercial.

This is me, on Easter. The shirt is a boys 14 and the pants are actually a women size 2, to accommodate my still very curvy hips. I'm a work in progress.

Most who do keto think of it as a WoE, way of eating, and a lifestyle choice. It's strict, but not all that difficult. I even make myself cakes, cheesecake and chocolate/peanut butter truffles, and so forth. I eat very well.
Today I started my day, typically, with coffee and two slices of bacon. Lunch was a chicken leg quarter and cauliflower. Dinner was some ground beef, an egg, and broccoli with cheese. And some light snacks during the day, along with a ton of drinks. I'm well hydrated.
Has your metabolism recovered? Any lasting effects?Quote:

Ketogenic is high fat, medium protein, low carb. And since I was already high fat, myself, I don't sit around and add unnecessary fat. No bulletproof butter coffee. I just stopped...avoiding it. I eat the chicken skin. I use a pat of butter instead of a spray of Pam in the skillet. That sort of thing.Quote:

And after the induction period, I started to find vegetables appealing. And figured out that my mother's near obsession on steaming them resulted in mushy and flavorless...never found them palatable as a kid. Now, I eat them willingly.
Congratulations! Your body looks really healthy and in good shape :D I have the opposite struggle, ugh, my metabolism happens to be psychotic and it's really hard for me to hold down weight/fat. I'm always trying to gain, but when I eat more than usual I feel sick. Worse, my doctor says there's nothing I can apparently do and I'm "healthy" (I don't look like it, I look underweight, and have gotten comments like how I'm a skeleton and a ghost!)
Didn't mean to rant LOL. It's inspiring that you worked so hard and did so well for your health!
I am about to eat a bowl of spelt flakes :)
Me and my pup shared an apple. I've had a busy morning so that's all I've eaten today.
Hello everyone
Allychan ! I am happy for you . I am same like yours was . Plz help me . My hair are too weak and breaks very easily . Please help me with diet .
I'm very interested in this keto it sounds heavenly, I love bacon and cheesecacke.
The only lasting effect (apart from the binge eating problem I developed afterwards) is that weight won't seem to come off naturally anymore... at all. I've gained about 50 lbs and I've stopped the binge eating but the fat won't come off no matter how much less (no less than 1500 calories now) I seem to eat. I've since stopped tracking and am trying to switch out unatural foods for all natural to see if that'll work but I am genuinely afraid that I've damaged my body to the point where I can't lose any weight without an extreme diet.
What is bulletproof butter coffee?
Bulletproof is a brand name, but it's like saying you made a Xerox copy.
It is the addition of fats, notably butter and coconut oil, to coffee as a way to introduce higher fat into your diet. Lots of information online.
There are two schools of thought about it. One is that if you already have fat on your body, you don't need to add more fat in your diet. The other is that you must meet specific dietary macros, the most common is that 75% of your daily calories should come from fats.
Based on what you wrote, do you have metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance? There are s number of Facebook groups that deal with those specifically, and there are dozens of keto groups as well. My favorite is a group called RealWorldKeto, which encourages a science based approach instead of anecdotes and expensive powders.
To get started read up on keto and LCHF diets, and look at the Atkins induction phase. You'll have a lot more knowledge at that point, and be well informed about any decisions you may or may not choose to make.
Eyes wide open!
And if you have a doctor, you might talk to them about it. As I said, it's fairly strict but remarkably easy because I get to eat real food. No need for Atkins bars or diet shakes or deprivation and starvation. Heck, I had bratwurst for lunch, with broccoli, and I'll finish with some espresso.
Scrambled egg(just one ) with little bit of onions and serrano peppers.
Boiled egg and coffee with natural 36 % cream.
Fish - should I say something more? ;)
Some chocolate muesli, blueberries, dried cranberries, walnuts, a spoonful of Peanut Butter, and some green tea. Yes, that’s a lot :agree:
Cooked Rice and fish
I had some tomato soup with peanut butter mixed in and a toast with fish butter :)
Does downing coconut oil actually help your hair? Would olive oil have similar effects?? hmm.
It is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids that help you absorb vitamins A and E better. It did make my hair stronger, have a healthy shine and grow a bit faster.
Coconut oil has a lot of other health benefits besides those it gives skin and hair :)
For me, it's better to eat it than put it on my hair...
I ate spelt flakes with a slice of butter today, a banana and now i am eating a spoonful of coconut oil.
Sandwich with eggs, cheese and paprika
Of course eating it straight out of the tub constantly is not healthy. Too much of one thing is NEVER good for you. In the correct quantities your body can thrive off of the great vitamins and healthy fat you get from eating it. I personally love to eat it with something instead of a spoonful by itself.
Coffee and vitamins.
But we are about to make some pasta for lunch with protein noodles. :yumm:
Are waffles hair food? I find the syrup makes my hair all sticky... ;)
yogurt - 10 characters
Well, 1.a salad made of mung sprouts, onion, chives, apio, arugula
2. a kind of loaf made of red kuri squash, mushrooms, eggs from our chicken and lots of greens
3. trout roe salad (roe mixed with oil, sparkling water and red onion)
Gonna have some lentils spread for lunch and sponge cake, honey and milk for dinner.
As for meat, I had yesterday.
Attaching a pic of my breakfast, love that salad, the chives comes from our garden!

An apple and a natural Peanut Butter + natural honey “sandwich” on whole wheat bread.
Strawberries and whipped cream. There are vitamins and proteins in it right?!
