Re: Growing out for the next decade on fresh chin-length cut -- 1a-1b/f/i
Hi and welcome! It looks like we have very similar hair and starting length (also height, I'm 5'9 too). When I joined I was an i but with careful handling plus giving up bleach and wet brushing (yikes) my diameter has reached just over 2"! I look forward to seeing your progress, sounds like you are doing some great things for your hair now which is great!

Awesome, sipnsun! Your hair is gorgeous!
I do hope my ponytail/braids can thicken up a bit with better care, though I'm not sure how that may happen considering I don't color, heat, wet detangle, chemically alter, etc. already as it is, my diet is on-point, I take medication to manage my thyroid, etc. But since breakage has been my nemesis in the past, perhaps I'll just have thicker ends. If I can keep more length (and by extension, volume), I'll be happy even if my ponytail doesn't plump. I correctly measured my diameter yesterday and it was just shy of 1.75" with all my hair in, so my estimation that the compressed pony was between a dime and nickel (aka penny-sized) was actually a misjudgment, as it is officially smaller than even a US dime...
I measured various lengths on my body last night and I won't go into all the details but the classic length that I had put as my goal in my initial profile, estimating 44in, that's entirely correct. 44 inches is what it will take me to get to classic. So 30 more inches!

And mochichichi, wow, congrats! I can dream it might be classic in 10 years but I'm not confident. I am tallish (5'9") with a very long torso and shorter legs so I'm thinking I need to measure where different lengths will hit on me to even have any frame of reference for how many years it might take. Thankfully I just evened up my hair by doing the chin-chop and getting rid of my bangs completely so I won't have to worry about it later.
I'm pretty short, so the body markers are pretty close together on me haha. Congrats on the nice even start! Are you planning to trim as you go or grow grow grow?
Re: Growing out for the next decade on fresh chin-length cut -- 1a-1b/f/i
Thanks so much for the kind compliment Happymaman. I really should measure my diameter again because I had a terrible shed and stall when I started early menopause last year. I feel like I could be under 2" again but I honestly don't stress over it anymore like I used to. Good luck on your journey, I look forward to seeing your progress!
Btw, if I measured correctly 44" should be classic for me also :hifive:

Hi happymaman!
We have exactly the same starting point! chin length, fine, thin straight hair ! looking forward to seeing where we can go with this ! (i dont have naturally crazy fast hair growth genes, but it ain't slow either). :)
Re: Growing out for the next decade on fresh chin-length cut -- 1a-1b/f/i
oh, and I'm 5'9" too!! funny that!

Arcticfoxes, I really hope you stick around here and we can compare notes (not in a competitive way!). I am genuinely pretty psyched to be starting this journey.
Re: Growing out for the next decade on fresh chin-length cut -- 1a-1b/f/i
I'm at 14.5 inches. And this is my 25th post so I'm itching to edit my info! Yay user privileges.

Hi and welcome!! I like your goal of growing for 10 years, come what may. It's a commitment to excellence :)

That's an excellent way of thinking about it. I'm quite excited.
I've been on LHC one month today. 9 years 10 months until I might do a big chop. I've been thinking that at that point I may cut back to Classic if I'm at a longer length and consider dyeing it for the first time. I've always thought with my freckles and fair skin that I'd look good as a redhead. Maybe that will be the one time in my life I choose to try that out. I do want to go grey naturally so I don't want to make a habit of dyeing my hair, but it could be really fun for a few months. Still... musings for ten years down the road as I won't be doing anything to my hair before then.
