I got the large Widu brush and the large comb. They are amazing. I just wish I had bought them years ago. If you don't have one you don't know what you are missing.

I’ve seen something similar to these brushes here in Japan, I’ll have to check out the brand when I’m out tomorrow.
Just picked up the Tek small comb with wide teeth and the Tek big oval olive wood brush with regular pins at Home Goods for a smashing deal. My hair was damp from the shower, so it was a nice opportunity to try them out. So far the brush detangled like a dream and left my hair smooth and sleek. I’m excited!
I'm considering investing in a TEK brush or two. Thinking of getting the paddle brush with the long bristles and possibly a BBB. I don't know if I'll dare to use the BBB on my hair yet at this point, as my hair is quite brittle and damaged from about halfway down, but it'll be a lot better once I grow out more of the damage. My hair really likes my wooden wide-tooth comb, so I think it might appreciate a wooden brush as well, maybe?
I've had a TEK brush for about 2 and a half years now and the rubber part that holds the pins has totally kicked the bucket. It's gotten warped over time and now the bristles are all at weird angles. I would like to get a replacement but before I do that I wanted to confirm if the warping was my error (I did use the brush on wet hair from time to time, and every couple of months washed the brush with soap and water) or if the product had the issue. Has anyone else had something like this happen and if I'm just careful not to get the next one wet will it have better longevity?
The WIDU brush (wooden pins in a rubber cushion with a wooden handle) that I had was wonderful for giving my scalp a gentle massage without disturbing curls and waves. The MP Large Extra (boar bristles in a rubber cushion in a plastic handle) was fabulous in every way, but the two types of brushes were apples and oranges.
About 6-8 months ago I found Tek brushes at TJMaxx. They were INSANELY cheap, about the price of a Goody. $7-$8, if I remember correctly. So it is still worth checking to see if one near you carries them. I found them after I had purchased one full price. And it was well worth full price, but you know I picked up two more (an oval and a purse sized, which both had pins broken by a small family member. I just removed the pins and carried on, still work beautifully, but karma, maybe??) Both combined for less than I paid for the first. They are THE gentlest brush I have EVER used. I was wondering why my ends seemed trashed lately, and then realized it must be the Denman I had switched to for a while for the scalp scritching benefit. I am back to my Tek, with my tail between my legs. Lol. I will be keeping my eyes out for the combs.
Am jealous of those who found these combs and brushes at TJ Maxx and HomeGoods!
Am considering buying a Tek brush but wondering if the paddle brush with the long pins would be too big. I tend to like a smaller, oval shape brush. The Tek site gives recommendations for curly hair and straight hair but not wavy hair. I’m thinking maybe the regular length pins would be best?
Amazon appears to only have a limited selection right now.
I love my long pins, really helps to get through thick hair at the scalp. The brush is thoughtfully sized, not as large as other paddle brushes I’ve had, but they do make an oval one, might be worth the trouble to wait until you find exactly what you want since they are pricey!https://i.imgur.com/MFh1OXF.jpg here is mine if it helps you decide. I have small-ish hands, size 6 ring finger.
Thanks Rosenester for your feedback and posting the photo. Your picture of the paddle brush doesn’t look as big as it does on their site. And it looks like we have similar hair stats.
