I've been wearing it in a seashell bun with my 60th street fork for the last 2 days (picture:

I've had a cold for the past couple of days so i didn't really feel like doing anything else to it (so no extra oil or anything), just put it up and go.
Sorry to hear about the cold. But it sounds like your treatment went well. Yes I'll keep a secret, but yes you can always quickly put your hair into a bun the moment you visit that thread. I usually do that once in a while and then I post that I will be wearing my hair up for the remainder of the day. ehehehe:D

Glad you are back! We've missed you. I hope all is well with you! Let us know how your make up treatment goes.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I just tried some of that Sun-In lightening spray. I dyed my hair black about 6 weeks ago (yeah, horrible idea) and even though it's lightened quite a bit since then it's still really dark.
Has anyone ever tried it before? I probably should have asked before spraying my hair with it

Hi Bunnysaur, I've put sun-in in my daughter's virgin hair and it lightened in the sun while she was playing, but I don't think it would have much effect on previously colored hair.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I am about an inch from APL, yay! Been a while getting there. In the meantime I wear my hair up every day and shampoo about every 4-5 days. I made my own shampoo - I make all natural soap so shampoo was a natural following and I think I am on to something! My hair is growiing and is shiny and healthy. Grow, dammit!

I sprayed it on and aimed a hair dryer at it for a couple minutes. It seems to have lightened it a little bit, but you're supposed to do it when it's wet so I'll do it again later after I shower and see how that goes.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
I'm doing a late treatment as well. :D I've had an SMT on my head for about 2 hours. I'll probably go wash it out soon.

I have heard of people lightening their hair with Sun-In over both virgin and previously coloured hair, there is even a member Nightshade who lightened her hennaed hair with Sun-In.
You may also want to try honey lightening as well as it is less damaging to your hair. Best of luck!
ETA: link to the honey thread- there is alot of info on here, but you can always contact member ktani for questions/advice.

Ahh it is flattering to be missed! I'm sitting here with the ApHogee protein treatment in my hair and let me tell you it's a tremendously annoying thing to do. The treatment is a smelly, sticky liquid that you have to blow dry until it gets hard. Did I mention it stings if you you get it in any cuts? Such a PITA. However, it really works and I figure I might as well do it while I can because once my hair gets much longer it's going to be too much trouble. Anyway my normal course of action is to put in the treatment, blow dry as much as I can stand, let it air dry for a bit and then blow dry some more. It take a really long time for it to dry to the crunchy stage. Washing it out is an adventure-- mermaid soaks are a MUST!

Congrats on being so close, Kdaniels! Btw what kind of shampoo are you making, is it a syndet bar?

Hmm I wonder how Sun In works.
Re: Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL!
My hair is slowly getting there (also given up the hair dye). However, after not using heat on my hair and treating it a lot better it appears to be getting wavy, is this normal? There are a few strands just by my ears that are almost full ringlets which is very odd as i've always had razor straight hair.
Anyway, progress!
